I was sunburned so badly at an outside craft show
on Saturday June 6th. Here is a pic form day 3 (Monday) so that you can see how my sunburn is coming along.

As you can see my sunburn is much lighter but I still feel pretty bad. Working, being up moving around constantly, not getting my vitamin C and the water that I should have been drinking- all added up to my having a setback.
By resting Tuesday and upping my vitamin C intake and my water intake I felt much better by Wednesday.
Here is my pic from Wednesday. I feel somewhat better
wednesday afternoon I got bubbles all over my forehead which then sta to ooze. I believe this was the result of my skin being so dry and tight thast it fe;t ;ole it would crack so I applied a good moisturizer for after being in the sun. Itcomtains aloe and coconut oil which can be good for sunburn.
My skin soaked it up like a sponge but I think that it was too much too quick. It did relieve that dry, tightness but I think that it was the reason my skin bubbled and started to peel- though as badly as mt skin was burned I think that it was destined to peel no matter what.
I carefully peeled away the worst of it- only what was already loose and was ready to come off anyway.
It came off it large pieces.
Omce this was removed and the air got to it, the weeping stopped.
Later the skin felt dry again.
I have slathered om the after sun lotion often throughout the days since
As you can see in the above picture my skin still has some dry loose bits but is starting to heal and feel better

At this point I have now been told that this is not just a bad sunburn but it is actually sun poisoning.
My face is swollen from the sun poisoning but it seems to be worse in the areas where I rubbed the raw potato.
I was told that raw potato will take the burn right out of sunburn. Maybe it works for plain ol’ sunburn but I do not recommend it for a bad sunburn or sunpoisoning like I have as it seems to have aggravated mine
I have been using cold water in a hot water bottle and putting it on the swollen areas. I do not fill up the water bottle as too much water feels like an anchor on my badly burned skin tissue.
Using the cold water often and taking my vitamin C andas well as drinking lots of water helps a lot. As does bed rest.
I had to work yesterday and so I wasn’t applying the cold compresses nor was I taking much vitamin C and my intake of water was down. Added to this is the fact that I was not only not resting but I was up moving around so much.
I became very tired, my face swelled up even worse- to the point I could barely look out my right eye. The swelling seems to me to be worse where I had applied the raw potato. Maybe because it has pulled toxins from deep within the tissue? Or maybe it just aggravates the burn?
At this point I am not sure but I prefer to say NOT to use raw potato for bad burns or sun poisoning.
I also started feeling more tired and aching all over. My head started pounding like a bad migraine headache.
One of my friends that has had sun poisoning told me that she went to the doctor and all that they had her do was get bed rest, take acetominophen for pain and drink lots of water.
From what she has told me, she had on a hat as well as sunglasses. It doesn’t sound like she had as much exposure to the sun and yet she says that she was flat in bed and even with pain relievers she was crying. She had her skin swell up and ooze pus.
So, with less sun exposure she had a worrse time of it than I have.
I believe that the difference is that I started with the vitamin C right away and continued with it day and night. I also applied vinegar and aloe vera carefully and often. This helped to take the burn out.
Once the burn is out it is important to apply a good, natural moisurizing cream or lotion that contains imgrediants to nourish and heal your damaged skin.
I am in the process of trying to bring you just such a product
In the meantime sun burn prevention is better than any naural remedy or otherwise. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure is so true with sunburns.
Personally I believe Kevin Trudeau that the reason we are seeing such an increase in skin cancer is because of the rise in use of sunscreen. BUT<, if you believe in using sunscreen then go ahead and make sure that you have it on hand in your car, purse, luggage or wherever is handy for you.
Another good tip to prevent sun burn is to always have a light long sleeved jacket or shirt with you as well as pants, sunglasses and a hat.
Another option is to always carry an umbrella. Yes, those women of olden days knew something after all :0)LOL. Using an umbrella can help to keep the sun off of you as well as rain so it is something that takes up little room and can really be a life saver.
