Okay, earlier I promised you that I would try to list 5 of the top fat burning foods and here they are.
But first I would like to say that if you are trying to lose weight filling up on fat burning foods is a great idea but you don’t have to just stick with eating fat burning foods all of the time. You can eat pretty much any food and still be able to lose weight. The key is moderation.
Individually wrapped sweets can be a good way to practice portion control. You know what I mean- the bags of little candy bars like you give out at Halloween?
As long as you make sure not to eat the whole bag and can stop at just 1 or 2 you are ok.
Maybe a way to help with this would be to keep the bag in the freezer and only take out 1 or 2 to thaw as your treat for a day or two.
Something else that might help would be to set a simple rule. When you want to have a treat you should always try to make sure that you have had a good healthy meal first. Treats are just that a TREAT they are not a meal.
Before actually having your treat you might want to always have a glass of water and make yourself wait something like 10-15 minutes.
This way you have the opportunity to see if you REALLY want the treat or if you were just thirsty.
If you simply follow these 3 rules it can help keep you from gobbling them down and not even being able to taste them.
In this way you can actually enjoy them guilt free. A simple treat once in a while is fine. So don’t beat yourself up over it.
When you deprive yourself until you can’t stand it then you are much more likely to binge on them and possibly eat thousands of calories.
You might also want to keep on hand other ‘treats’ like fruits and vegetable that are ready for snacking instead of fatty, unhealthy foods like potato chips and other fried salty snacks.
Having bags or containers of fruits and vegetables all cleaned, peeled and sliced makes them handy for grabbing when you want a snack.
Anyway, so here are the fat burning foods that I promised you.

Now, in order for these to stay Fat Burning Foods you need to eat them as close to their natural state as possible.
Raw is best as the enzymes in them will help your body to digest your foods better and assimilate the nutrition better.
You can steam or boil but the most important thing is to watch what you put ON them. Forget the salt shaker. Try to learn to enjoy the natural flavor of your food. Or, if you need to add something then try herbs and spices.
Don’t smother them in butter or other high calorie condiments
A simple low fat vanilla yogurt with fresh fruit can be a tasty treat while also helping your body to burn fat.
Try eating some raw fruits or vegetables each day. This is especially important as you get older because as we age our body’s enzyme stores aren’t as strong. We need raw natural enzymes to help to properly digest foods.
When foods are properly digested they don’t stagnate in our colon and become breeding grounds for bacteria and parasites. They don’t stick like glue to our colon walls and cause other foods to stick to them too building a thick sludge that makes it impossible for our body to get the nutrition from the food we eat and causing us to gain weight.
Did you know that Elvis, and other people who have passed on, have had as much as 50 pounds (or more) of garbage in their colon? That all shows up as extra weight on your scales every time that you get weighed.
Besides being unhealthy, I think that the thought of having food that you ate years ago still lying there inside your body is pretty disgusting. You should always be eliminating approximately the same amount as what you are eating each day.
I read once that it is important to eat raw foods daily. Now you know why. Raw foods will help keep your body’s digestive system running more smoothly
Learning to love these fat burning foods raw is not as hard as you might think.
Example: When I was a child I have fond memories of my Mom making corn on the cob. I remember the steaming hot corn all slippery with lots of melted butter and sprinkling lots of salt all over it just like my Mom did. I remember the warm tangy corn and the fabulous flavors dancing on my tongue.
Ok, are you hungry for corn on the cob now? :0)lol
Now, my son and I – once in a blue moon-do have our corn with a bit of butter on it but for the most part we have found that we enjoy the naturally sweet flavor of corn on the cob raw. Not right out of the refrigerator cold -just room temp.
Matter of fact we just had some today. We had our chickens out running around the yard and we were outside having some fresh raw corn on the cob. As we would drop a kernel the chickens would run over and squabble over the kernels.
When we would finish a section we would break it off from the rest of the cob- making sure to leave a few kernels on it and would toss it to the chickens.
Now, if you enjoy nature at all you would love to see the hilarious site of those chickens running after the corn cob. One would grab it and try carrying this big piece of corn in their beak while running with all of the others chasing them trying to get it away.
Doesn’t matter how many pieces you toss down they always do the same thing and it is just as cute and funny to watch the first time as it is the 21st.
We have more corn and if the weather cooperates maybe we will try to video tape some of this hilarity for you all to enjoy too.
Anyway, sorry for wandering off like that. My point was that even though I was brought up to like eating my corn on the cob in a basically unhealthy way (though we didn’t know that back then) I taught my son to like eating it the same exact way and yet we both now love eating our corn on the cob raw just as much (if not more) than eating it the fattening, unhealthy way.
Talk about fast food?
All you need to do is peel off the husk, remove the silks and you are ready to eat some sweet and delicious food within seconds. So, even if you think that you could NEVER like eating raw natural foods without all of that butter, salt and calories you should think again and give it a try.
The smaller kernels are sweeter. Big kernels are usually tougher and not as flavorful.
BTW, when we DO cook our corn on the cob we like to leave it in the husk and toss it in the microwave for a couple of minutes per each ear of corn. We can cook several ears of corn at a time this way and it is quick and easy. It steams the corn so it is really moist and delicious and so EASY to make.
Another way is to leave it in the husk and put it on the grill to cook through
Another example? Strawberries are on sale this week. My son and I got some and we just enjoy snacking on them in the evening just plain. We enjoy their naturally sweet goodness without adding anything. They are DELICIOUS!!!
Now, the guy that I work for likes strawberries too. BUT, he has to have them covered with splenda. I don’t mean a light sprinkle on top I am talking about COVERED with it all over through the whole bowl.
Course this man also has me put spoonful after spoonful of Splenda into pretty much everything- including spanish rice, goulash, etc. I don’t know about you but when I have a dish with meat in it I don’t want it to taste disgustingly sweet. I save sweet taste for my treats.
So, which way do you think is healthier? Enjoying the fresh natural taste of strawberries and other foods or throwing on tons of sugar, splenda, salt, butter, etc.?
Hey, I like to put condiments on food too but I try to enjoy the natural flavors of foods as much as possible because most condiments have calories and some have a LOT of calories. By eating less condiments you can enjoy a LOT more food each day for the same amount of calories
Later! :0)
