Here is something interesting that I just found out: Did you know that there are 10 to 100 times more toxins in your fat than in your blood? I found this out from a doctor. I knew that fat surrounds toxins to protect your body from them but I didn’t realize just how much toxins can be found in the fat in your body. Amazing and kind of scary when you think about it. So, it is a good idea to decrease your body fat and get rid of these excess toxins. Here is a partial list of diseases we are seeing on the rise due to all of the accumulated toxins- diseases like cancer, brain disorders like autism, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, auto-immune dysfunction, nerve disorders and more common ailments like depression, learning disabilities and fatigue. All this adds up to it being a good idea to get rid of as much excess fat as you can and that it might be a good idea to cleanse to remove these excess toxins. I was reading that using an infra-red sauna every day for a month is a great way to get rid of toxins and that taking Chlorella is another good tool for removing toxins. I am thinking of writing an article with more info about this if it interests you. Please let me know. Thanks

Fat Is TOXIC?
Saturday, February 4th, 2012Biggest Loser Season 8
Thursday, August 20th, 2009Well, it is almost here- Biggest Loser season 8 will be starting on September 15th, 2009. For those of us die hard Biggest Loser fans it has been a long time coming :0) For someone who is addicted to the Biggest Loser tv show it has been very hard getting through.
I had planned on re-watching some of the shows from previous seasons during the summer and posting about them but I guess that God, and life, had other plans as we have not had time to watch any of the shows that we have taped. It’s not even completely about being busy, though we really have been, but we have also had a lot of emotional issues to deal with due to the loss of several family members and friends of our family
Anyway on to talking about the new season…
This time around the Biggest Loser will be doing something different. They will not be having couples, as they have so often lately, but will be back to singles. They will be continuing to show
The Biggest Loser will be in 2 hour episodes the same as they have been for the past 3 seasons.
This time around the Biggest Loser researched and studied to see which are America’s fattest cities and the tried to cast in these cities. They also added something in these cities to try to help them to change their ways so that they can lose weight, get healthy and get off the list of America’s fattest cities.
I think that it is great that Biggest Loser is helping so many people to lose weight not only on the ranch but by trying to help get America’s fattest cities off the list.
Biggest Loser is currently casting for season 9 in which they will be going back to the family format. Season 9 will premiere January of 2010
Stay tuned because I will be posting info on the cast for season 8, who they are and a little bit about them
Biggest Loser Pigout?
Tuesday, June 30th, 2009I was just reading an article that talked about how so many people do not know when they are full.
When do you know that you are full?
Is it when your plate is empty?
When the food is gone?
When everyone else is done eating?
Did you know that there are a lot of people out there that consider the start of the Biggest Loser tv show to be their signal to start pigging out?
That people gather their friends and family as well as a table full of snacks in order to pig out during the Biggest Loser?
The Biggest Loser being used for a pig out fest?
I cannot imagine. I very seldom even eat while the Biggest Loser tv show is on. And I sure the heck try to avoid eating fattening food while watching it.
I don’t know about you but it just doesn’t seem RIGHT to pig out while watching a show about losing weight and getting healthy.
I may ‘pig out’ on occasion by having a treat or maybe eating a bit more than I probably should but I sure do not use the Biggest Loser as my excuse for loading up on junk food and stuffing my face
Do people think that they will be able to watch the Biggest Loser and just lose weight automatically?
Can you absorb the results of someone else’s exercise just by watching?
Can you lose weight by simply watching the Biggest Loser tv show?
Is this what people think?
Is that what YOU think?
I know that a lot of the people reading this blog are doing so because they want to lose weight and get healthy
I myself would be ashamed to pig out during the Biggest Loser tv show. It almost seems, I don’t know….sacrilegious?
It just doesn’t feel right.
Yes the Biggest Loser is entertaining and we love to watch it for it’s entertainment value.
BUT, if you are watching it in order to try to lose weight and get healthy how can you justify pigging out while doing so?
Heck, even if you are skinny as a rail how long do you think that will last if you continue to pig out for 2 hours every week?
So, if you really want to lose weight try taking a look at your behavior while watching the show.
If you find yourself guilty of indulging too much while watching the Biggest Loser then try making some changes.
Feel the need to snack while the show is on? Try having fruit and vegetable platters at hand or reschedule your HEALTHY, LOW FAT, meal to be eaten while watching the show.
They say that you shouldn’t eat while watching tv as you are not fully enjoying your food and you are much more likely to eat many more calories than you need to but at least eating a healthy, low fat meal would be better than pigging out on high calorie junk food snacks.
Remember Phil and his wife Amy Parham on season 6 of the Biggest Loser? I know that ’evil’ Vicky was who so many were talking about but you should remember Phil and Amy as Vicky couldn’t stand Phil and made Amy cry. Remember?
Now do you remember them talking about pigging out on ice cream while watching the show?
See, a lot of people are guilty of it but you CAN change those behaviors and lose weight.
If they can do it then so can you :0)
Here are a few tips to help you .
Try to avoid eating while watching tv
When you do so then try to have healthy snacks available- fruits, vegies, fruit sorbets, popcorn (pop it yourself and you control how much butter and salt it has on it)
Drink water whenever you feel hungry as sometimes it is really thirst being confused for hunger
Really want that high calorie snack?
Try cutting the portion in half or in quarters. Try having just a quarter of half portion instead. Really want more? Wait 30 minutes. If you still want it then go ahead and have another partial portion.
When you make fattening snacks like cake or brownies the cut them into serving size portions. Have 1 and put the rest in the freezer. By having to wait it gives you time to realize that you are already full so there is no more eating the whole cake and then being depressed when you realize what you have done
Not sure how to tell when you are full? Put only normal sized servings on your plate. It you are unsure of how much this is then look it up on the side of the package or in the recipe.
Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. They used to say to chew each bite something like 30 times before swallowing it.
Set your eating utensil down between bites.
Savor the flavor. Don’t have distractions.
Listen to your stomach. When it says you are full then stop eating
Need some help with this? Still can’t tell when you are full? Do you REALLY want to be able to watch something and be able to lose weight simply because you watched it?
Do you think that it is possible?
It IS.
If you are truly serious about losing weight and you know that nothing that you have done so far has worked then right now go over to the right and order the subliminal weight loss software.
All you need to do is have this software going in the background when you are on the computer. You retrain your brain to feel differently about food. This makes it so much easier to lose weight and get healthy. The pounds can melt off without you even realizing it. I know as this is what happened to me.
It is under $20 one time and you can use it to lose the weight and then use it as a refresher every once in a while.
If you could lose weight for under $20 one time and no starving diets or brutal exercising wouldn’t you do it?
Go over and order your software now. It installs easily and starts working immediately once you hit the start button. It even comes pre-loaded with messages and yet you can personalize it with some extra messages of your own.
Try it. You’ll be glad you did. I know I am.
Recipe for Disaster-Unhealthy Kids Foods
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009If you have kids you know that they can be very adamant about what they like and what they want to eat.
As adults we don’t always eat the healthiest foods- as is witnessed by obesity and rampant disease throughout not only the USA but all over the world. We need to be more aware of what foods are healthy and which foods are unhealthy. And it is never more important than when it comes to our children
The food choices that we make are never more important than when it comes to kids.
Bad food choices are bad enough for adults but kids being so much smaller these bad choices can add up even more quickly.
IMHO toxins in our kids foods can build up to unhealthy levels more quickly than in children.
Do you realize that there are kids foods that your child should not be eating?
For instance, take tv dinners. They are a popular fast food that many parents choose because they are quick and easy. You may keep your freezer stocked up with them for times when you don’t have time to cook a meal or when your child is home alone while you work as they can pop them into the microwave and have a ‘home cooked’ meal in minutes.
But do you realize the amounts of sodium and other items that are excessive and could be very unhealthy? (This applies not just for your kids but you too)
I am not saying that you should throw out all of the tv dinners that you have in your freezer as that would be wasteful. But, be aware and try to make healthier choices from now on.
Even within brands you will find that certain meals have a lot more sodium than others. Try to lean towards the lower sodium/lower fat meals
Even a popular tv dinner that is geared towards children is guilty of the same thing so do not just think that it is for children and should be healthy. Take a few minutes and look at the nutrition chart and the ingredients.
How about crackers? They are a quick and easy snack that is popular not only with kids but adults too.
There is a popular name brand cracker that is geared towards children and yet the sodium levels in these crackers is very high.
A better choice? Graham crackers. They were popular when I was a child and I gave them to my son as a treat too. I am talking about plain old fashioned graham crackers. The popular new ones with all of that sugar and cinnamon on them has a LOT of sugar so feed them to your child accordingly. One of them once in a while would be fine but not large amounts of them.
Many parents think that fruit rollups are a good healthy snack for kids to get their vitamins.
Many of the fruit rollups that are geared towards kids are actually high in sugar. Check brands and compare. Better yet? Give your child the real thing. An apple, grapes or other fruit is fast food too and is high in vitamins, minerals and fiber.
Keeping fruits and vegetables washed, cored and ready to eat in containers in your refrigerator makes it easy for kids (and YOU) to snack on them instead of junk food. A container (or baggie) of apple slices with a small container of peanut butter makes for a healthier snack ,or meal, choice.
Fruit drinks
taste great and kids love them. The bad thing? They can be full of sugars, artificial colors and preservatives.
Better? Get your kids to drink real fruit juice. Want to send some for your child to drink with their lunch? Afraid of it spoiling? Freeze some in a bottle and put in with their meal in the morning. This helps keep other items cold and will be thawed for lunch time ready to drink.
Prepackaged lunch trays
are a common item for kids. They are already packaged and so are an easy to take meal for your child. But, these items can be high in sodium and other items such as preservatives.
If you feel you need to buy these for your children then at least compare labels and compare ‘meals’ within each label for the best choice.
The best choice would be for you to get your child an insulated lunch bag with a water bottle or thermos. You can freeze bottles of real fruit juice or milk ( even chocolate) and send sandwiches, fruit and prepared vegetables all ready to eat. These are fast and easy too but are full of good nutrition that will help your child to stay healthy, build strong bones and feed their brains so that they do better in school.
Soup
is healthy-USUALLY. Yet again, you need to be checking labels for ingredients and nutrition. Soups that are geared for children do not necessarily mean that they are healthy for kids.
Better yet? Homemade soup. It is not difficult. Anyone can make it and it will be full of good nutrition without all of the sodium and preservatives.
Don’t have time? Make large batches and freeze them in individual servings. Use a slow cooker so that your home made meal can be thrown together the night before and sat in the refrigerator overnight. In the morning just get your soup, or meal, going on your slow cooker. When you and your family come home you will have a good for you home cooked meal that was fast and easy.
Many people have switched from candy bars to granola bars as a healthier snack. BUT, some granola bars are full of bad ingredients too. As with everything else- check your labels.
Another healthier option might be to make your own granola bars so that you control what goes in them. Too hard? No they’re not.
Macaroni and cheese
is a huge favorite among kids and adults alike. Some popular brands are geared more towards kids with fun shapes and yet they are high in sodium.
I am starting to feel like a broken record…..uhhhhh…scratched cd :0)LOL
Check your labels people.
A better choice? Home made macaroni and cheese. Use whole grain pasta with low fat cheese and milk. This is easy to make. You can freeze small portions for individual servings to be heated later so making a large batch once every 2-4 weeks takes no more time than making enough for 1 meal and you will be all set for weeks.
Waffles
make for a fast easy breakfast and yet some of the prepackaged waffles you buy may not be the best choice due to high sodium and high sugar content.
Do you ever make home made waffles? When you do just make a double or triple batch and put the extra in the freezer for warming in the toaster in minutes for a ‘home made’ breakfast.
Cereal
? Kids cereals are full of sugar and sodium. Start your kids on the path to good nutrition by starting them early on whole grains. Too late? Try getting them to eat a mixture of whole grain cereal an kids cereal. Slowly increase the whole grain cereal and decrease the kid cereal.
I did this with my son and he likes to eat bran cereal, raisin bran and other healthy cereals
Lunchmeat
? Clearly all lunchmeats are not created equal. Check your labels and be aware that it is much better when you are able to to cook extra meat when you make your meals. Make sandwiches out of the extra. Or, make your own lunchmeat. It is not as hard as you might think and you can control how much salt goes into it, avoid preservatives and unhealthy amounts of fat.
I have told you about many choices that you can make to feed you and your family healthier food. Some of them you would be better off preparing at home. Think that it is too hard to make these items at home? Keep your eyes open as I am going to be bringing you an ebook that will give you the tools you need to make healthier foods for your family fast and easy.
Firm Up & Get Healthy
Monday, June 22nd, 2009While Having FUN!!!
Hi All,
Happy Father’s Day.
As a single Mom I am both Mother and Father to my son. As such I get cards for Mother’s and Father’s Day :0) So, I usually look forward to both holidays. But, today turned out to not be a great day around here.
If any of you have been checking out some of our other blogs you probably already know that we have chickens. I won’t get into the whole story here as this blog is about the Biggest Loser tv show and about helping people to lose weight and get healthy. But, something attacked some of our ‘baby’ chickens last night and killed 5 of 7 of them. The scene this morning was horrific. We raised these from little fuzz balls an to see how they suffered has made me sick to my stomach. Not really feeling like celebrating today.
Anyway, I promised you another way to firm up and get healthy so here you go
The other day I told you about something called isometric exercises which are not only super easy to do but they work great too. The great thing is that it doesn’t cost you anything to do isometric exercises and you can do them pretty much anywhere without most people even knowing that you are exercising.
Another great exercise that you can do that will not only help you to lose weight, firm up but to also get healthy in other ways too.
This one costs a little bit but it is not too expensive and compared with all of the benefits it is well worth it.
What is it?
Rebounding.
Some of you may not know what this is. A re-bounder is simply a mini-trampoline. It doesn’t cost much, we got ours at a rummage sale in like new condition for only $10.
You can set a re-bounder up in front of your tv and use it while you watch your favorite tv show- that could be Biggest Loser once it comes back on this Fall :0)
You simply get on your rebounder and walk, run, or jump your way to health.
If your health is bad you can still get the benefits of using a rebounder by resting your feet on it while sitting in a chair and then let someone else jump on it.
This will work well for those who may be elderly, obese or just have a lot of health problems.
Before you start you should get the ok from your doctor but if your doctor doesn’t think you should do this then ask them if you just rest your feet on the mini-trampoline while someone else uses it or you just gently bounce your feet if it might be ok to try it and see if you can start helping to improve your health this way until you are able to actually get on the rebounder and use it
Using a mini-trampoline, even like this, can help get your blood circulating and help to cleanse your lymph system. Rebounding affects every organ, helps the efficiency of the lymphatic system and even the immune system.
Your lymphatic system is your defense against , viruses, infection, bacteria and even diseases.
It cleans wastes and infection from all tissues of the body and even removes the toxins we absorb from our environment.
If you suffer from a stagnant lymphatic system you could suffer from any one (or more) of these common diseases:
Obesity
Loss of energy
Low back pain
Viral infections
Arthritis
Bacterial infections
Cancer
Prostate problems
Chronic sinus problems
Eczema and other skin conditions
Loss of Energy
Fibrocystic disease
Chronic fatigue
Repetitive trouble with parasites
Multiple Sclerosis
Heart disease
Edema
Lupus
Inflammation
High Blood Pressure
Headaches
Excessive sweating
These are just some of the diseases that affect anyone that has a sluggish lymphatic system. But you don’t have to have an impaired lymphatic system as using a mini-trampoline is one of the, if not THE, best way to improve your lymph system and gain other benefits too.
You can simply start using your mini trampoline for 5-10 minutes to start and build your time up from there. It may not seem like much and it is so much fun you may not want to get off of it :0)lol but even starting for small amounts of time you can gain great health benefits.
Here is a list of how rebounding can help your body:
1. Rebounding helps your lymphatic circulation
2. Rebounding protects your joints from chronic fatigue and trauma caused by the impact caused by exercising on hard surfaces.
3. Rebounding slows down the aging process.
4. Rebounding strengthens the skeletal systems.
5. Rebounding helps to circulate more oxygen to your tissues.
6. Rebounding creates better equilibrium between the oxygen required by your tissues and the oxygen that is available.
7. Rebounding improves your digestion and elimination processes.
8. Rebounding helps your blood pressure
9. Rebounding increases your capacity for respiration.
10. Rebounding helps in the rehabilitation of a heart problem.
11. Rebounding increases the functional activity of the red bone marrow in the production of red blood cells.
12. Rebounding improves your resting metabolic rate so that you burn more calories even hours after you finish exercising.
13. Rebounding causes your muscles to work in moving fluids through your body to lighten your heart’s load.
14. Rebounding decreases the volume of blood that you may have pooling in your veins of your cardiovascular system thus preventing chronic edema.
15. Rebounding increases your circulation.
16. Rebounding strengthens your heart & muscles so that they work more efficiently.
17. Rebounding allows your resting heart to beat less often.
18. Rebounding lowers circulating cholesterol and your tri-glyceride levels.
19. Rebounding lowers the low-density bad cholesterol in the blood and increases your good cholesterol to help you to avoid coronary artery disease.
20. Rebounding helps your body in tissue repair.
21. Rebounding for more than 20 minutes at a time with a moderate intensity will increase the mitochondria count within the muscle cells, essential for endurance.
22. Rebounding adds to the alkaline reserve of the body, which may be of significance in an emergency requiring prolonged effort.
23. Rebounding allows for better relaxation and sleep which helps you to deal with stress easier.
24. Rebounding helps to improve your balance.
25. Rebounding offers real relief from neck and back pains, headaches, and other pain caused by lack of exercise.
26. Rebounding helps for fatigue & menstrual discomfort for women.
27. Rebounding improves muscle-to-fat ratio.
28. Rebounding results in better mental performance, which could help you and your family with the learning processes.
29. Rebounding helps your immune system so it minimizes the number of colds you may have as well as allergies, digestive disturbances, and abdominal problems
30. Last, but not least, Rebounding is FUN!
With all of the benefits of rebounding there is really no reason not to get started using a mini-trampoline as soon as possible.
Now, for some of you, you may be able to get a rebounder at a rummage sale like we did but for those of you that are heavier you might not be able to find one strong enough to hold you.
Keep watching here as I am in talks with a company that makes the best rebounder around. With a 300 pound weight limit which is 50-100 pounds more than any other mini-trampoline around. It also has a safety bar and is low cost. If you haven’t already done so you may want to bookmark us and keep checking back. I will let you know as soon as I am able to offer you this great item to help you to lose weight and get healthy
Hope you all have been trying the isometric exercises I already told you about. Keep at it and you will start to see results :0)
Happy Father’s Day and First Day of Summer :0)

Biggest Loser Trainer Called “Fat” What is the World Coming to?
Monday, June 1st, 2009Last night I was tired when I posted about someone calling Jillian fat. Today I would like to talk a bit more about that incident.
But first-
Like many of you, I have been skinny and I have been fat and everywhere in between in my life. I was a little chubby when I was little. Back then they called it ‘baby fat’. When I hit my pre-teens I lost my ‘baby fat’ and was a normal weight for a time. Then I hit my teens and started to want to look like the models and famous actresses that were so thin.
I started to diet and exercise. I ate 1 sandwich a day with 1 slice of meat and 2 pieces of bread. I found out that dill pickles only have 5 calories each so I ate LOTS of dill pickles.
I exercised almost constantly when I was home.
When I was on the phone- I exercised.
When I watched tv- I exercised.
I lost weight. I got skinny.
And yet I still wasn’t happy and thought that I needed to lose more. My Mom was only 5 foot 2 inches tall and I am 5 foot 8 inches tall. Yet I lost enough weight that I could wear my Mom’s clothes. My bones stuck out and sitting was no longer comfortable so I kept moving more.
I didn’t know it then but I found out years later that my Mom was worried about me.
Back then we didn’t know about anorexia and bulemia like we do now.
Part of the problem that started that whole ball rolling was that the boyfriend that I had at that time told me I was fat. He continued to do so until my bones stuck out so bad that he couldn’t stand to have me sit on his lap.
When he complained about my bones sticking out then I realized that I was too thin.
Luckily I was able to start eating more normal and after a time I was back to being a normal weight and was fairly happy and healthy.
I was always the thin one of most of my friends- even at my normal weight. Who would have guessed that I would one day be ‘fat’?
I was in my early 20’s when I fell hard on cement and damaged my knee caps severely. I didn’t think that I would even be able to stand and for a long time just walking was a chore and very painful.
I iced my knees and did my exercises that they knee specialist recommended. Still, it took a long time for them to heal where I could walk without aid.
I believed for a long time that I would never run or dance again. I felt that I would be lucky if I was able to just walk normal again.
During that time I started gaining weight. I wasn’t able to move around much and when I did it was very difficult and painful. I became depressed. So I ate.
Eating was something that I COULD do without any problem.
I became chunky again but this time it wasn’t ‘baby fat’. I didn’t like it but there were people a lot bigger than me so I convinced myself that I was ok.
Then one day we went out to eat at a local fast food restaurant. I didn’t have a lot of food, just a sandwich, French fries and a drink. Yet I remember a young guy mooing at me. Seriously he mooed. And there were even at that time people a LOT bigger than I was. I don’t understand why he picked me to do that to but I was horrified, I was embarrassed beyond belief.
After that I didn’t want to go anywhere for a long time. I seldom left the house and I started wearing black all the time.
I had read that black is slimming and I thought that it would help me to look thinner.
It also was easier to color co-ordinate my clothes.
So this was my life for a time.
Then I had my son. He was 2 months premature. I had spent weeks in bed at home because of spotting and after suffering 2 miscarriages I did not want to lose my baby and would do whatever necessary to be sure that he would be ok.
At Christmastime I was finally able to get up and about a little bit. I still had to be careful but I managed to go in the stores a couple of times to pick out Christmas gifts.
Then in January I started leaking amniotic fluid and had to be rushed to the hospital.
That first night was HORRIBLE!!!
I was so worried about my baby and because they were concerned about emergency childbirth and the possibility of an emergency c-section they had me on this hard thing all night. It was almost impossible to get to sleep between being so uncomfortable, the worrying and the moniter they had strapped around me to keep track of my baby.
Every time I would finally doze off I would bump the wires and an alarm would go off. The nurse would have to keep coming in and fix it.
I was also hungry as I hadn’t had anything to eat all day in case they had to do emergency surgery.
We got through the night ok and managed to spend the next 6 weeks in there leaking amniotic fluid the whole time. I could get up to use the bathroom and a shower but that was it.
I went through 12 roommates while I was in there and if I hadn’t of had my son when I did I would have had roommate number 13 the day that Josh was born.
Because of how early he was he had to stay in the hospital for weeks and with all of the running back and forth I quickly lost all of the pregnancy weight that I had gained, and then some.
I wasn’t skinny but I wasn’t so overweight any more either.
Then my husband began to drink and use drugs. Domestic violence is a HORRIBLE thing and no one should have to live like that.
During this time I lost weight again. A LOT of weight and though I wasn’t skinny I was at a pretty much normal weight again for the first time in a long time but what a way to do it?!
My husband refused to admit that he had a problem and get help. I refused for Josh and I to live like that and despite all of the death threats and the fear that he actually WOULD kill us, I divorced him.
Being a single Mom is not what I had planned for in my life but we have gotten through and living as a single parent is much preferable to having the person that professed to love us refuse us food, medical care and threatening to kill us.
Luckily Josh was little but what memories he has of his father are not good ones but he is a happy, well adjusted person now and I have done my best to be both Mother and Father to him. I have also tried to put positive male role models in his life. NO NOT by dating! Make relatives and friends of the family.
Anyway, so I went through a period of time where I was of a normal weight and then…. my Mom died. My Mother was both Mother and Father to me as my Dad died in a car accident when I was a baby. I never felt that I missed out as she was always there and we were close. Mom was not only my Mother but my best friend. Losing her was one of the worst times of my life.
I became depressed. But I knew that I needed to be here for Josh and so I pushed through. I also started to eat more to shove down those emotions.
I gained weight.
Thus began a period of 10 years of losing loved one after loved one. I cannot tell you how many people we have lost in the last 10 years due to cancer, old age and accidents because to sit here and think about it would be just too depressing.
We are still dealing with the lose and pain of finding our cousin dead in a pool of blood. She had fallen down her basement stairs and hot her head on the cement floor at the bottom.
To find her like that and to lose not only our cousin but one of our best friends AND my job all at once was another one of the worst times in my life. I have gone through a LOT of bad things in my life and yet I keep going- without using alcohol or drugs as they don’t help your problems they just make things worse
From all of the stress and just the toll of living my life and pollutions and such- I ended up with 2 lung diseases and other health problems/
With all of my health problems- my back, my knees, my hands, my lungs and more- I couldn’t do all of the things that I used to do. There have been times that I could barely move.
There was another problem. Eating to shove down emotions and yet unable to move enough to burn even a portion of those calories.
I got to the heaviest weight I have even been in my life. I quit getting on the scales a long time ago because I didn’t like what I saw.
Then last year I discovered a combination of 2 things that had me losing weight so easily that I didn’t even realize that I was. I was just concentrating on getting healthy.
By the time my weight loss was brought to my attention my clothes literally hung on me. My son tells me they look like clown clothes on me.
After several months of using my method I quit it order to test it to see if I would have lasting results, or if like so many other weight loss methods the weight would come right back.
It has been over 6 months and the weight seems to be staying off.
I know now that if I would start to gain the weight back I can just use my method again.
I want to lose some more weight but for the sake of testing my method I am waiting a while longer.
But, for the first time in a long time I do not worry about my weight. I concentrate on making a better life for Josh and I and on us just being the healthiest that we can- which is why we are busy trying to enlarge our garden to try to grow most of our own food, We have chickens and are thinking of raising rabbits, turkeys and maybe some mini cattle as well as anything else that will help us to be more self sufficient.
We want to put a house roof over our trailer as it keeps wanting to leak and we have used roof coating but we have a couple of cats that like to get up there and when they do it sounds like a herd of cattle. All of that weight makes the metal buckle and get cracks. Also, I have to go up every winter and shovel snow off and with my health I will not be able to do that for too much more.
We would also like to have a greenhouse to grow food year round and a storm shelter/root cellar to store food in and to go in case of a storm as you know that trailers are not a good place to be during storms.
Anyway, sorry about getting of track there. My point was that we all tend to believe that we should be model thin. That’s not true nor is it healthy.
We should all strive to find a weight that is healthy for us and then just concern ourselves more with eating healthy and BEING healthy instead of wanting our cheek bones to stick out and to be so thin that we disappear when we turn sideways.
Calling Jillian fat is simply the mentality that so many are in anymore. We think that anyone that weighs more than the models do is overweight or ‘fat’
That’s not true and it isn’t right.
Let’s all worry more about our own business, being healthy and helping our fellow human beings.
To the person that called Jillian ‘fat’? You need to work on your image of what a woman should look like. If you think that Jillian is overweight then you have some issues you need to deal with.
You may be thin now but one day you might not be. One day you may not have your looks, your youth, health or your hair. When that happens I am sure that there will be someone just like you are now that will be quick to point it out and at that time maybe you will realize how many people you have hurt by your harsh words and inappropriate attitude toward women
You also do not know what got them overweight in the first place. It may be health reasons or some emotional one. I do not believe that most people that are overweight got there just because of laziness.
So before you put someone down because of their weight you might want to think about what got them there and how easy it might be for YOU to be where they are.
‘But for the grace of God go I’
Well, that’s enough of my rant for today :0)lol
Let us know what you think by leaving comments ( hopefully nice) and we would appreciate it is you would share our site with others so that we may grow and be able to help as many people as possible to lose weight and get healthy in addition to sharing our thoughts about the Biggest Loser - our favorite tv show :0))
Biggest Loser Jillian- FAT???
Sunday, May 31st, 2009Can you believe that last month someone actually called Jillian ‘fat’ ?
Jillian, one of the world’s best trainers? One of 2 great trainer’s on the Biggest Loser tv show?
Are they crazy or what???
Anyway, here’s what happened….
Jillian was out with some friends and seemed very happy. They were just leaving Guy restaurant. Jillian was signing autographs for the crowd when a bystander mentioned to her that her friends were fighting.
It turns out that someone had the nerve to call Jillian ‘Fat’- do they need glasses or what?!
Jillian went over and walked with her arms around her male friend, who seemed very upset about the whole incident, and they left.
Hey Jillian, don’t listen to that nut. They obviously need glasses because you are not fat. There is no way that you need to lose weight
Even though they were being a jerk you handled the whole incident with class. You look great and you ARE great! We all love you :0)
Obviously THEY are the one that has the problem and you refused to stoop to their level.

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009Biggest Loser Tuesday….
Tuesday, May 26th, 2009Yes it’s Biggest Loser Tuesday but since Biggest Loser isn’t on I feel like a fish out of water :0(
Around here when Tuesday rolls around it is Biggest Loser day and we cannot wait for evening - 8 o’clock specifically- for Biggest Loser to come on.
Now we DO have a good portion of season 5 taped and all of season 6 and 7 but watching reruns is not the same thing as sitting anxiously waiting to see what is going to happen ,what the challenge will be, how the weigh in will go and who will be sent home.
I wish that we had started taping Biggest Loser right when it first came on. To have Biggest Loser season 1, 2, 3, and 4 would be so great. I KNOW that we watched the episodes but I can’t really remember any right now. I DO recognize some of the contestants from back then but not all of them. So, watching Biggest Loser from the beginning would be like seeing iot all pretty much new.
OOOOHHHH, an IDEA! They aught to show Biggest Loser season 1 for reruns all summer.
Then next Summer they could show the reruns from season 2, etc. These would be reruns but they would be back far enough that it would almost be like seeing them for the first time. And for anyone that didn’t watch all of the first seasons of Biggest Loser tv show they would get to see them for the first time
So anyway, if we go back to season 5 and start watching what we have taped it would be fairly new. It HAS been a while and we might not remember everything that happened so- though it won’t be like watching brand new episodes of Biggest Loser it will be nice to see old friends.
I only wish that we had started taping sooner. We started taping about the time that Paul (Kelly’s ex-husband) went home. We like Paul- matter of fact Paul is now a friend (though he thinks I’m a bit of a brat for teasing him about the chicken wings that he loves to eat :0)
Anyway, It would be great if we had all of season 5 as it was a great season. Season 6 was ok. We liked a lot of the contestants on Biggest Loser that season but there were a few that made it a hard season to watch. You KNOW who I am talking about.
Now season 7 was GREAT and we loved pretty much everyone on there but it just got done so who wants to turn right around and watch it again? I mean, it was a great season but I would rather see Brand New Episodes of Biggest Loser (Hint to the powers that be :0) Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have Biggest Loser on year round? All brand new episodes?
AHHHHH……. HEAVEN!
Or maybe Hell if there were people on there like certain contestants from season 6…..
Anyway, so here were are on Biggest Loser Tuesday with no new episodes to watch and, although I got through last week pretty easily (surprisingly) I am now starting to feel my Biggest Loser withdrawals starting to kick in and I think that I might go stark raving MAD before Fall gets here and the new episodes start playing!
Wait! It is only the second week without new Biggest Loser episodes. I can handle this. I should be able to get through until at least week 3 or 4 before having to be carted away by the men in white jackets, right? :0) lol
Ok, so back to my original plan. I am going to write all Summer about ways that you can lose weight, tips, recipes, etc.
I have the My Biggest Loser Blog Community up and going- or at least it should be. I worked on it yesterday.
I want people to come over and introduce yourself. Let us know if you want, or need, to lose weight. If so, how much? What have you tried in the past? Did you lose any weight? Did you gin it right back?
What is your reason for wanting to lose weight?
For YOU? Your health?
To live longer for your kids?
To be able to have kids?
To get boyfriend or girlfriend?
To make an ex jealous or to make them want you back?
Did you know that your REASON for losing weight is important? Yes, that is because if your reason for losing the weight resonates within you it will keep you eating salads, turning down that LARGE piece of cake for a small one, drinking lot s of water when you are sick to death of drinking so much water.
When your reason for losing the weight is strong within you, you will be much more able to stick it through until you reach your weight loss goal.
Another thing that is important and you have seen them do this on Biggest Loser, is to have a weight loss goal outfit. Make it something that you want to be able to wear so much you can taste it.
Hang it up in an area where you will see it often.
Trying to lose weight for your kids?
You probably already have pictures of them hanging up. Whenever you feel like weakening or giving up just look at those beautiful faces and remember the REAL REASON why you are doing this.
Here’s a tip: Drinking lots of water helps your body to eliminate toxins put off bu your body breaking down fat stores.
It also helps your metabolism.
BUT, when you have had glass after glass of water it can get a bit boring.
Try adding a little lemon juice. Lemon juice will perk up the flavor, make it something different and it will help you to detoxify.
And remember, get outside and get moving. Taking a walk or gardening are great ways to get you out in the sunshine and get you breathing some fresh air which is also great for helping you to get healthy and lose weight.
Try to avoid walking right beside a busy street as when you are doing a lot of walking you will be breathing more and deeper. You don’t want to be breathing in all of those nasty exhaust fumes.
An option is to walk on a country road, a park or at least a street that isn’t so busy.
Enjoy the fresh air and the feel of the warm sun on your face and know that life is good, you WILL get healthy, you WILL lose weight, You CAN Do This!!!
Take care

5 Fat Burning Foods….
Sunday, May 24th, 2009Okay, earlier I promised you that I would try to list 5 of the top fat burning foods and here they are.
But first I would like to say that if you are trying to lose weight filling up on fat burning foods is a great idea but you don’t have to just stick with eating fat burning foods all of the time. You can eat pretty much any food and still be able to lose weight. The key is moderation.
Individually wrapped sweets can be a good way to practice portion control. You know what I mean- the bags of little candy bars like you give out at Halloween?
As long as you make sure not to eat the whole bag and can stop at just 1 or 2 you are ok.
Maybe a way to help with this would be to keep the bag in the freezer and only take out 1 or 2 to thaw as your treat for a day or two.
Something else that might help would be to set a simple rule. When you want to have a treat you should always try to make sure that you have had a good healthy meal first. Treats are just that a TREAT they are not a meal.
Before actually having your treat you might want to always have a glass of water and make yourself wait something like 10-15 minutes.
This way you have the opportunity to see if you REALLY want the treat or if you were just thirsty.
If you simply follow these 3 rules it can help keep you from gobbling them down and not even being able to taste them.
In this way you can actually enjoy them guilt free. A simple treat once in a while is fine. So don’t beat yourself up over it.
When you deprive yourself until you can’t stand it then you are much more likely to binge on them and possibly eat thousands of calories.
You might also want to keep on hand other ‘treats’ like fruits and vegetable that are ready for snacking instead of fatty, unhealthy foods like potato chips and other fried salty snacks.
Having bags or containers of fruits and vegetables all cleaned, peeled and sliced makes them handy for grabbing when you want a snack.
Anyway, so here are the fat burning foods that I promised you.
Now remember, these are just 5 of the list of many fat burning foods that I will be listing in my ebook once it goes to the paid full version. I am giving you these 5 fat burning foods as well as complete information on exactly HOW I lost weight without dieting or exercise. If you hurry right now you can get started losing weight today without having to pay anything at all for the information.
The only reason that the e-book will be going to a paid version is simply because as a single mother I gave got to be able to pay the bills. I am sure you can understand that right?
So, grab your copy now for free just for being early bird visitors to My Biggest Loser Blog,
Here are the 5 fat burning foods:
Apples
Watermelon
Cucumbers
Radishes
Pineapple
Oh heck, here’s a couple extra free fat burning foods for you :0)
Celery
Spinach
Now, in order for these to stay Fat Burning Foods you need to eat them as close to their natural state as possible.
Raw is best as the enzymes in them will help your body to digest your foods better and assimilate the nutrition better.
You can steam or boil but the most important thing is to watch what you put ON them. Forget the salt shaker. Try to learn to enjoy the natural flavor of your food. Or, if you need to add something then try herbs and spices.
Don’t smother them in butter or other high calorie condiments
A simple low fat vanilla yogurt with fresh fruit can be a tasty treat while also helping your body to burn fat.
Try eating some raw fruits or vegetables each day. This is especially important as you get older because as we age our body’s enzyme stores aren’t as strong. We need raw natural enzymes to help to properly digest foods.
When foods are properly digested they don’t stagnate in our colon and become breeding grounds for bacteria and parasites. They don’t stick like glue to our colon walls and cause other foods to stick to them too building a thick sludge that makes it impossible for our body to get the nutrition from the food we eat and causing us to gain weight.
Did you know that Elvis, and other people who have passed on, have had as much as 50 pounds (or more) of garbage in their colon? That all shows up as extra weight on your scales every time that you get weighed.
Besides being unhealthy, I think that the thought of having food that you ate years ago still lying there inside your body is pretty disgusting. You should always be eliminating approximately the same amount as what you are eating each day.
I read once that it is important to eat raw foods daily. Now you know why. Raw foods will help keep your body’s digestive system running more smoothly
Learning to love these fat burning foods raw is not as hard as you might think.
Example: When I was a child I have fond memories of my Mom making corn on the cob. I remember the steaming hot corn all slippery with lots of melted butter and sprinkling lots of salt all over it just like my Mom did. I remember the warm tangy corn and the fabulous flavors dancing on my tongue.
Ok, are you hungry for corn on the cob now? :0)lol
Now, my son and I - once in a blue moon-do have our corn with a bit of butter on it but for the most part we have found that we enjoy the naturally sweet flavor of corn on the cob raw. Not right out of the refrigerator cold -just room temp.
Matter of fact we just had some today. We had our chickens out running around the yard and we were outside having some fresh raw corn on the cob. As we would drop a kernel the chickens would run over and squabble over the kernels.
When we would finish a section we would break it off from the rest of the cob- making sure to leave a few kernels on it and would toss it to the chickens.
Now, if you enjoy nature at all you would love to see the hilarious site of those chickens running after the corn cob. One would grab it and try carrying this big piece of corn in their beak while running with all of the others chasing them trying to get it away.
Doesn’t matter how many pieces you toss down they always do the same thing and it is just as cute and funny to watch the first time as it is the 21st.
We have more corn and if the weather cooperates maybe we will try to video tape some of this hilarity for you all to enjoy too.
Anyway, sorry for wandering off like that. My point was that even though I was brought up to like eating my corn on the cob in a basically unhealthy way (though we didn’t know that back then) I taught my son to like eating it the same exact way and yet we both now love eating our corn on the cob raw just as much (if not more) than eating it the fattening, unhealthy way.
Talk about fast food?
All you need to do is peel off the husk, remove the silks and you are ready to eat some sweet and delicious food within seconds. So, even if you think that you could NEVER like eating raw natural foods without all of that butter, salt and calories you should think again and give it a try.
The smaller kernels are sweeter. Big kernels are usually tougher and not as flavorful.
BTW, when we DO cook our corn on the cob we like to leave it in the husk and toss it in the microwave for a couple of minutes per each ear of corn. We can cook several ears of corn at a time this way and it is quick and easy. It steams the corn so it is really moist and delicious and so EASY to make.
Another way is to leave it in the husk and put it on the grill to cook through
Another example? Strawberries are on sale this week. My son and I got some and we just enjoy snacking on them in the evening just plain. We enjoy their naturally sweet goodness without adding anything. They are DELICIOUS!!!
Now, the guy that I work for likes strawberries too. BUT, he has to have them covered with splenda. I don’t mean a light sprinkle on top I am talking about COVERED with it all over through the whole bowl.
Course this man also has me put spoonful after spoonful of Splenda into pretty much everything- including spanish rice, goulash, etc. I don’t know about you but when I have a dish with meat in it I don’t want it to taste disgustingly sweet. I save sweet taste for my treats.
So, which way do you think is healthier? Enjoying the fresh natural taste of strawberries and other foods or throwing on tons of sugar, splenda, salt, butter, etc.?
Hey, I like to put condiments on food too but I try to enjoy the natural flavors of foods as much as possible because most condiments have calories and some have a LOT of calories. By eating less condiments you can enjoy a LOT more food each day for the same amount of calories
Later! :0)
