Biggest Loser Season 13 Sound Off About Walk Off

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

Ok, so we all saw the big  ‘Walk Off’ and now people are pissed off and are sounding off.

Even former contestants are upset about Buddy and Mark walking off like that and most agree that after signing the contract that they should have kept their word and fulfilled their obligations as stated in the contract.

Here I am going to tell you  a lot of the comments and talk about Mark and Buddy walking off the Biggest Loser Ranch that I have been seeing and hearing:

Here are some FACTS right from the contestants mouths…
Mark: “I’ m done with the twists and turns. I’ ve got to stand for what is right!”

Buddy: ” I’m following my heart right now, and I’ m doing what I feel is the right thing to do! I just dont like one of the games rules, and for that I wont play that weeks game! I feel real strong like I have to take a stand for this thing that I just feel like shouldn’ t be! I dont feel like a quitter, though I’m quitting the show”!

Like one former contestant said “They should have read the contract!!!”

And for any of them to say that they had NEVER seen this kind of twist before in the game??? Pleeeeeease! They have brought back eliminated contestants before in the past. How can they claim they are surprised by this???

I was NOT happy with any of them! I find it pretty selfish too!

And here is one of my favorites:

And for Mark to claim on his facebook page that it was the Godly thing to do? Um, my God is a God of His word, don’t know who you’re following Mark!

WRONG IS WRONG!

There aren’t enough “CAPS or !!!” in the WORLD to stress how much that episode AGGRAVATED me!!!

They should have to apologize to the other thousands that wanted spot and wanted to complete this….i think it was a stupid…and i mean a stupid decision to leave…geez. they worked so hard and then just gave up and now have no opportunity for the financial prize!

i think conda was the mastermind behind the whole walking out t.hing

I don’t get why everyone acted like it was such a matter of principal when they signed the contracts & it was spelled out for them. They had a huge opportunity that any of us at home people would have loved to have had

I was not sad to see those guys quit! I hope they aren’t eligible to come back to the finale…others worked just as hard as they did and wanted to stay….that’s what made me mad !!

They are all old enough to realize that life isn’t fair, there are loopholes and challenges and struggles to overcome, ya thought they figured that one out already then to turn around and be a quitter. No one that has 2 weeks away from graduating from college can look back and say “I did that for myself I worked hard but it was the right thing to do”. It’s basically the same thing.

How sad that “adults” throw tantrums when they don’t get their way and walk off! Hello…a contract was signed! It makes me wonder if they have regrets after going home. I can see where it would be easy to be that mad about it but after a cooling off time, regret would set in. It’s the way that the game works and if one doesn’t like it, they shouldn’t audition for the show or sign a contract.

I wish they had stuck it out. Mark is at his goal weight but Buddy is not. Because they dropped out we are going to be denied seeing how much Buddy finally lost. He still had some to go to get in the healthy BMI range. We will not get to see the final product at the finale. I think they could have gritted their teeth and lasted a couple of weeks. Shoot if they were so unhappy being there they could have water loaded or binged to guarantee that they would fall below the red or yellow line and be eliminated.

What a bunch of drama queens…yes, Mark and you Buddy are nothing but drama, but seriously to act like you did and just walk off?

DO THESE PEOPLE NOT READ WHAT THEY SIGN? That’s common sense 101 people. I have nothing but disgust for both Buddy and Mark after the foolish decision that was made.

All of the pathetic whining that went on Tuesday night…my goodness…have they never watched the show? The final 5, or the Bully Bunch as I call them once again showed they are ungrateful for this life changing opportunity they were given.

They do not deserve anything but shame. They have dishonored their families, their home towns and for Mark his church.

Now if you would like to read Mark’s FB letter and see for yourself if you agree with what he is saying or, like many, you still think that he made the wrong decision.

Read his letter here

For those of you that didn’t realize it, both Buddy and Mark are pastors. Do you think that as pastors they set a good example or a bad one?

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 16

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Ok, so the contestants got wind of this shocking event that the producers were planning to bring back the eliminated contestants to compete and that whichever one won the challenge would get to come back to the Biggest Loser Ranch?

If these people have watched Biggest Loser at all then they should know that the Biggest Loser producers have done this forever. This is nothing new.

Ok, so now we see that they cannot say that they had no idea that this could happen. Even if they have not watched the Biggest Loser tv show, to see this has happened many times before, it WAS in their contract.

How many seasons has Biggest Loser brought back the eliminated contestants to allow one of them the opportunity to win a spot back on the ranch? I believe that the first season that they did that was when Ali won and was the first female to win the title of Biggest Loser. That would be season 5 if I am remembering correctly.

I know that Bob Harper said that they have always done it but I am not sure. I can’t remember them doing it before Ali but even if Biggest Loser only started to do this during season 5 we ARE in season 13. That alone would be plenty of notice that they might do it this season.

Then you see that the attorney pointed out that it was specified in each contestant’s contract that the Biggest Loser producers were planning from the start to give one of the eliminated contestants a spot in the finale.

Ok, so all 5 contestants- Mark, Jeremy, Conda, Buddy and Kim- are upset about this new twist huh?

So who do you think will walk off?

Will it be Mark?

Jeremy?

Conda?

Buddy?

Kim?

I really thought by they way that tonight’s Biggest Loser show was talked about online that it was going to be that Jeremy was the instigator when in reality it looks like Jeremy just had the misfortune to be the first contestant called into the room to talk with Alison Sweeny and the attorney for the Biggest Loser.

Ok, so it was Mark and Buddy that went home.

I am surprised that Mark and Buddy left. I really had thought that Conda and Jeremy would be the instigators of the controversial Biggest Loser Walk Off that we told you about when it happened back in February.

I would like to say Kudos to Kim, Jeremy and Conda for seeing the big picture and sticking it out on the show.

Although I am seeing that there is quite a few of you that believe that Conda and Jeremy DID instigate this whole thing in hopes that at least some of the others would walk off thus increasing their chances of Conda and Jeremy being in the finale.

Is that what YOU think?

Who did Mark and Buddy hurt by walking off the Biggest Loser Ranch?

Themselves! Their family’s.

When they were this close to being in the finale I think that it was just plain stupid to walk out like they did.

They spout that it was the “Right Thing To Do”

Well, considering that they are both ministers I have to wonder what kind of message that they are sending to their family, their communities, the world.

If they are men of God then I would think that keeping their word would be important to them. Having signed the contract and then breaking that contract is not the act of an honorable man. Is it?

And legally that is breach of contract.

They could face a lawsuit.

Mark said about him being only 11 pounds from his goal weight and so he felt that it wasn’t hurting him any to walk out.

BUT by walking out he forfeited any chance of winning either the Biggest Loser or the at home prize.

I would think that $250,000 or $100,000 would allow them to help their congregation and their community’s a lot.

To me I would think that stating that they firmly believe that this move by the Biggest Loser producers is wrong but since they are honorable men that they would fulfill their contract. And that they were continuing to stay on the Biggest Loser Ranch, not only to honor their word but, knowing that by doing so that they could use that prize money to help many people in need.

They could have stated that by taking the high road that it would be to the betterment of so many people in need during these tough economic times.

Now THAT I would have liked to see.

So, Mark and Buddy are gone and we now see the Biggest Loser contestants watching video of when they started on the Biggest Loser Ranch. They were reminded of what they looked like when they first started on the Biggest Loser Ranch and how far they have come.

Conda got to see how she behaved and she seemed to be embarrassed, and ashamed, by her behavior.

It always amazes me at how much the contestants have changed in the last 4 months on the ranch.

Now for the weigh-in:

Conda    -10=

Kim   162-15=147    105   9.26%

Jeremy 249-10=239

Jeremy may have lost 10 pounds and that is a good number at this point but it was not enough.

Jeremy fell below the red line and he is not the Biggest Loser.

And then Alison calls in the eliminated contestants.

***UPDATE*** ‘NBC publicity has shared an update on last night’s episode. As of now, Mark and Buddy are planning to attend finale, but they will not be eligible for any prize money. There will  not be any legal ramifications for their decision to leave the show. “They chose to leave and the show wishes them well,” said Jill Carmen with NBC.’

Now I have to say that they should have made an example of Mark and Buddy simply to be able to nip this in the bud should anyone else ever get the idea to do this.

This upset the whole show and this is the reason why we have only seen 1 hour episodes for a while now in an effort to make what footage they had last long enough to get them to the finale.

So, Mark and Buddy walked off and we end up getting cheated out of hours of seeing Biggest Loser?

I am very disappointed in these 2 men that are supposed to be men of God and yet they feel that they don’t need to honor their word?

I think that they should be ashamed of themselves for their childish behaviour. Honest, honorable people keep their word. They might protest a wrong but 2 wrongs don’t make it right and breach of contract is wrong.

If you or I were to do such a thing, if we did not honor a contract that we signed, we would be made to pay for such actions. I think that the only reason that they are getting away with it is because they DID get Biggest Loser a lot of free publicity.

What do YOU think?

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 17

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Well tonight, April 24, 2012 is the last episode with the contestants on the ranch. Next week is the live finale. Yes, it is here already! Who can believe it?

We left off last week with Alison calling in all the eliminated contestants (minus Mark and Buddy who walked off the ranch last week).

Alison Sweeny made it clear that if you walk off the ranch that you are NOT eligible for the prize money.

Gee, who could she have been talking about? Jlol

The eliminated players are back for a chance to fight for the last spot in the finale. Jeremy is determined that he will win and be back in the final 3.

The contestants find out that there will be a 4 part challenge and the one that wins will be the third contestant in the Biggest Loser finale next week.

The first part is a weigh-in to see who has lost the most weight since they first stepped on the ranch. The top 8 contestants go on to the next round and the bottom 7 leave the Biggest Loser Ranch for good.

Here are the results of the weigh-in:

Jeremy lost 150lbs.        38.56%

Chris 240- 74=166           30.83%

Megan 259- 70=189         27.03%

Kimmy 219-65=154          29.68%

Emily 264- 89+175            33.71%

Cassandra 239- 81=158   33.89%

Lauren 246-74 =172 (more than 63) 30.08%

Mike 358-114=244 (more than 95)    31.84%

Chism 361- 96=265     26.59%                                eliminated

Daphne 271- 67 lbs=204  24.72%                           eliminated

Roy 306-79 = 227 ( more than 75)   25.82%           eliminated

Adrian 370-79=291(more than 95)   21.35%           eliminated

Nancy 217-49=168(more than 56)    22.58%          eliminated

Gail 322-73=249 (more than 83)     22.67%            eliminated

Ben 396-99=297(more than 107)   25.00%             eliminated

Those that go on to the next round of this competition are:

- Jeremy

- Cassandra

- Emily

- Chris

- Kimmy

- Lauren

- Mike

- Megan

Jeremy is worried about not being the 3rd finalist. Conda gives him a pep talk and then asks him if he wants to be alone. “Sure” Jeremy says. Conda says “Don’t be a Donny Downer all night” as she walks out the door. J

Dolvett gets the makings for sandwiches and says to Jeremy “You’re not even a cook and you can make sandwiches like these”

Jeremy smiles and says “If I can do it, anyone can”

Mike has made such great strides. He is so much happier and nicer to be around. He has lost a lot of weight but it goes so much deeper than that. We are proud of you Mike. You have come so far J

Chris was told that since she is not medically cleared to compete in this challenge that she will not be in the final 3.

Ok, so the next challenge is for everyone to run 100 yards- the same place that they all ran 40 yards on the first day. Only the first five to cross the finish line will be able to move on to part 3 of the challenge.

Who are the 5 to cross the finish line first?

- Cassandra

- Lauren

- Megan

- Mike

- Jeremy

The 3rd challenge has the contestants having to complete a puzzle like they did in their very first challenge. They each have a stack of puzzle pieces and they need to match the food with the correct amount of calories. Only three will be able to move on to the final round.

- Mike

- Jeremy

- Lauren

The 4th challenge is all about endurance. The contestants have to balance on top of a post while holding onto a ticket to the finale. They have to keep their hand on their ticket and be the last person still standing in order to win their spot in the final 3.

Jeremy spent the whole time talking and trying to psyche the other 2 contestants out. He concentrated on Lauren first.

Ali asked Conda if Jeremy is like this at home. Conda says “What? Relentless?”

Ali said yes and Conda said…

“YES!”

Ali told Jeremy that he had been talking for 50 minutes straight and Lauren asked for earplugs :-) lol

They went to 1 foot at about 2 hours and 21 minutes.

Who do you think is going to win it?

Lauren started to get dizzy and then she fell after standing on 1 foot for over 10 minutes. She fell at 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Now it is down to being between Mike or Jeremy.

We are at 3 hours now.

Who will last?

3 hours and 10 minutes.

Both are figeting. Who will fall?

Mike fell.

And Jeremy is the winner!

Conda starts crying happy tears for her brother and gives him a hug.

Who is happy that Jeremy made it back to be the third person in the final 3?

I am sure that some people will be happy and others of you will be really upset.

I find it ironic that the final 3 are all people that everyone was disgusted with earlier in the season. I do think that these 3 have grown during their time at he Biggest Loser Ranch.

Sure Conda still has a bit more growing to do as noticed when she said that Jeremy deserved to be there at the ranch more than Kim when Jeremy only lost the 10 pounds last week.

I understand that she was upset and disappointed but Kim worked hard too and when all is said and done many think that Conda is only in the final 3 because Jeremy helped her through so many challenges.

But, I think that Conda has improved and I will give her credit for that. She realized how awful she acted and sounded and she was embarrassed and ashamed at her behavior.

I am not saying that she is an Angel but I do give her credit for the changes she has made in how she is both inside and out.

I did notice back a while ago that Kim and Conda weren’t so buddy buddy anymore and have noticed great improvements in Kim’s behavior for some time now.

I think that so much of people being upset with Jeremy was because he is Conda’s brother and because he kept helping her. So many people wanted to see Conda go home.

In seeing this and not being one to like people being rewarded for bad behavior I went ahead and started a petition to get the producers to either re-edit the show (if Conda wasn’t as bad as we were being led to believe that she was) or to not allow Conda to win at the finale. If they even would allow her to attend due to her conduct while on the Biggest Loser Ranch.

It wasn’t that I was out to get Conda. I simply was upset and saw that many of you all were too and wanted to go about changing something that I felt was wrong in the right way (unlike a couple of people I could mention).

Well, we got quite a few signatures (thank you -smile) and we got the Biggest Loser producers to make changes in how the show was edited. This made for a much nicer show to watch.

While watching up until this time I found myself screaming at the tv and getting so angry. Where as before I would yell at the tv but I also laughed and cried tears of joy for the contestants.

I know some of you have still been upset at how Season 13 of Biggest Loser has been but I saw enough of an improvement that I was able to once again enjoy my favorite show.

Sure, I still found myself wanting Conda to go home. Partly because I was still upset over her past behavior and partly because of things that she would do or say that week.

But, even though I am still disgusted with her initial behavior, I am one to give a person a second chance if they are attempting to change what they did wrong and I do feel that Conda has been doing so.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that she would be my first pick for the Biggest Loser Season 13 finale but I won’t feel so badly if she were to win as what I would have a couple of months or so ago.

Now who do I really want to win?

I don’t know. My absolute first choices are in the running for the at home prize. I do feel like I would choose between Jeremy and Kim simply because a part of me does feel that maybe Conda would not have made it this far if Jeemy hadn’t helped her so many times.

Kim was pretty awful at first too. Maybe not as bad as Conda but she got sucked into the whole drama thing and had her moments too.

Hmm…Jeremy? Was he really that bad or was he just guilty by association? Being Conda’s brother probably got him a lot of flack but was it warranted?

I am not sure.

But with the changes and the growth that I have seen in these three I don’t think that I will find myself screaming at the tv next Tuesday night (May 1st?). It will nice to be able to actually enjoy it.

It seems like Biggest Loser Season 13 has been so long and yet in some ways it has gone by so fast. I look forward to seeing the finale and finding out who wins it  but I am sad to see it go. I hate going a whole Summer without a new Biggest Loser to look forward to untill Fall.

Yet it looks like this Summer will be a busy one for Josh and I. So while we will miss Biggest Loser and all of you we will look forward to seeing you all again this Fall. We will post anytime w have something new to tell you about the Biggest Loser and/or it’s contestants.

BTW, we do have some things to tell you about some current and former contestants and we are sure that as Summer progresses there will be more. We will post these items asap so please continue to check back here often.

I plan on posting some on Saturday and of course we will see you next week  :-)

Take care

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 15

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Makeover week continued on the Biggest Loser episode aired April 10, 2012. It was the second part of the makeover episode due to the Biggest Loser only being on 1 hour last week and this week because of The Voice.

We left off with the contestants getting ready to meet First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House and everyone was pretty excited.

Bob had the honor of introducing Michelle Obama to the contestants and their families. Mrs. Obama welcomed them all to the White House and told them that she is a big fan of The Biggest Loser tv show. She complimented them on all the weight that they have lost and how much they have changed since being on the Biggest Loser Ranch.
The contestants were amazed that the First Lady had actually been watching them and knew all about them.

Bob announced that they were all going to work out with First Lady Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama remarked about being scared and joked with Bob and Dolvett about how she has secret service watching them. All of the contestants and their families laughed at that.

Everyone gets ready to workout by putting on their workout clothes and as Mrs. Obama walked past Buddy he put his fist up and got a fist bump from her. Buddy says that he is going to call her his “firsty”.

The FIrst Lady talks about the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge. She says it is something that she and President Obama are urging all Americans should do as a family to get fit. This challenge asks people to eat healthy and get active ( adults for 30 minutes a day and kids for 60 minutes a day) for six consecutive weeks.

The Biggest Loser contestants are to get people to sign up for this challenge under them. The contestant that signs up the most people to participate will win having a gym built in their community.

Later Chris talks with her husband Roy. He says that he misses her, that he has been a little low and extremely lonely. Chris asked him if he needs her to come home. Roy said “yes”.
Chris said ok but you could tell that her heart wasn’t really in it. She has really blossomed in these last weeks on the Biggest Loser. She has opened up, seemed so much happier and now with her new makeover she is looking so much younger.
I just had an epiphany. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find out that Chris’s kids saw how great Mom looked and called Roy up, “Hey Dad!…..”. I think that Roy found out about Chris looking so young and got worried. So, when Chris called shortly thereafter Roy saw his chance to get her to come home.
I could be wrong but it sure fits. Roy is older than Chris and hearing how much younger she looks and how wonderful he probably got concerned that he could lose her.

Maybe I am all wrong but I feel that this would explain why he would insist on her coming home when she was so close to being in the finale.

Later, Chris said that she didn’t know what to do because she was under so much pressure. So she did the only thing that she knew to find comfort and that was to binge eat.

During the last chance workout Chris looks guilty. Bob asked her if she was throwing in the towel. Chris told Bob that she doesn’t feel like she has a choice because she has stuff going on at home that she needs to deal with. Bob is upset that Roy wants Chris to come home when she is doing so well and is so close to being in the finale.
Bob talks to Chris about how marriage is supposed to be give and take. Chris starts to cry. Bob tells her that her options are that she can either stay on the Biggest Loser Ranch or she can go home and that she needs to make a decision & then she needs to stand by her decision.
Chris then tells Bob she is going to stay on the ranch and work her a** off to stay above the yellow line because she doesn’t want to be the old Chris anymore.

Ok, so now for the weigh-in

Jeremy 260 to 249 -11 4.23%
Buddy 269 to 260 -9 3.72% (1 pound advantage)
Mark 200 to 196 -4 2.00%
Conda 210 to 205 -5 1.90% (1 pound disadvantage)

Kim 164 to 162 -2 1.22%
Chris 170 to 172 +2

Chris gained 2 pounds after all she ate. She said that she is not surprised she didn’t lose any weight and that she was just trying to eliminate the pain.
Bob talks about binge eating and how bad people feel after they do it and says that he hopes that she learns from this mistake.

Conda voted for Chris and said that she felt that if Chris stayed that her heart would be at home.

Buddy voted for Chris too and said that while he likes Chris he feels like Kim is a sister to him and so he couldn’t vote for Kim.

And so, Chris is eliminated.

Now, as time has passed I like Kim better since she isn’t all buddy buddy with Conda. She seems so much nicer than she did at first. But I must say that for all the fussing that certain people did about Adrian saying things at inappropriate times I felt that Kim crying right when Chris was just eliminated took away from Chris’s moment.

I like Chris and was sad to see her go home. I was hoping that she would be able to go to the finale. I would have liked to see Chris have her moment to talk when she was eliminated like everyone else has been able to.

Now, on the other hand I do understand why Kim cried and told Buddy how much his words meant to her. It was sweet of Buddy to say that. Anyway, so Kim and Buddy hug. Then Alison told Chris that she is sorry but Chris is not the Biggest Loser.

Chris says she is just thankful that she has been given this opportunity and that she is going home to her family and that she now has so many new, close friends, and a sense of accomplishment after losing so much weight.

When Chris first arrived at the Biggest Loser Ranch she weighed 240 pounds. Now she weighs just 156 pounds.

Chris tells about how she looks for opportunities to get more exercise like walking down to the mailbox and riding her bike to the grocery store. Chris told how she and Roy do a lot of biking and they work out at the gym together.

Her kids talk about that since their mom has come home they are all exercising more.

And Chris tells that after the Finale that she and Roy plan on riding across the country on bikes!!!

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 14

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Tonight was the much anticipated makeover week on the Biggest Loser. This means that the Biggest Loser Season 13 finale is just around the corner.

Biggest Loser opens with Conda and Jeremy talking about Megan going home. Conda is upset about having to choose between sending 1 friend or the other home. Jeremy tells her that Megan will be ok, that she will figure it out.

I was shocked to hear Conda admit that she is abrasive and then got a bit of a chuckle over that. Abrasive? That was sure the understatement of the year if the first weeks of the Biggest Loser were any indication of how ‘abrasive’ she is.

Now for the challenge

We see a large picture of each contestant. When the contestants walk up for the challenge they are shocked to see how they looked just 14 weeks ago.
The challenge is for them was to break a window, that has 2 panes of glass, and has a picture of them inside it. They must use a large slingshot and break each of the 2 panes with balls.
The first person who finishes the challenge wins a one pound advantage. The player who finishes last gets a one pound disadvantage instead. No one wants to finish last.

Well, Kim was the first one to break part of her window.
Buddy hit his window.
Chris’s second attempt broke one of the panes of her glass

Buddy won? Wow!
So, the challenge winner is Buddy. He wins a 1 pound advantage and for someone who has been having to sit on the sidelines for the challenges for a bit Buddy sure did well on this first time back in the challenges, didn’t he?
And Conda finished last, getting her the one pound disadvantage
Fashion expert Jeannie Mai helps each contestant to find fashionable new clothes to wear when they go to the White House to meet Michelle Obama.
But before they head off to the White House, they go to celebrity stylist Ken Paves’ salon to complete their new looks. And isn’t it amazing how much different they all look after their makeovers?
Who do you think looks the most changed?
I was floored at how much different and younger Chris looked with her new hair, make-up and clothes.
I think that Buddy and Mark both look younger too and Mark looks better with his goatee gone don’t you think? The gray goatee aged him.
Conda surprised me by getting her hair cut and donating it to Locks For Love.
Kim looked amazing too didn’t she? And how great for her to find out that she is now in a size when she got her new clothes.
I know that when you lose weight it is hard to really see yourself, that new thinner you. But when you find out that you are now fitting into smaller sizes then you have to finally believe it.

For those of you wondering how each contestant stacks up for weight loss numbers (and percentages) here is a chart for you to see that at the time this

Contestant Age Height Starting
Weight Recent
Weight Pounds
Lost Percentage
Lost
Kim 38 5’ 07” 252 162 90 -35.7%
Jeremy 22 5’ 08” 389 253 136 -35%
Buddy 42 6’ 08” 403 263 140 -34.7%
Mark 43 6’ 00” 291 198 93 -32%
Conda 24 5’ 05” 294 205 89 30.3%
Chris 42 5’ 03” 240 169 71 29.6%

chart was created Kim was in the lead for weight loss with Jeremy a mere 0.7 behind her.
Conda and Chris are close for last place. But. when you take into consideration the fact that Conda’s starting weight was 54 pounds more than Chris weighed then Conda should have lost more weight by now.
Chris is down to 169 pounds so she doesn’t have a lot more to lose when you take into consideration that part of that is muscle and muscle weighs more than fat does.

Here is a chart showing the Biggest Loser contestants starting BMI and their more recent BMI numbers
