What are these the symptoms of you might wonder?
Hypothyroidism- underactive thyroid gland.
Why am I writing about this? Well, years ago I had symptoms of an underactive thyroid gland. I researched it and found Kelp to be of use in treating it naturally so I bought some and used it
I felt better and that was the end of that.
Or so I thought.
You see, I never thought any more of it. I wish I had.
Back before I had my son Josh I miscarried twins. It was quite traumatic. My husband and I had only told everyone we knew, about the baby, just days before I miscarried.
I was so upset over losing my baby. The doctor had me come in the next day to be tested to see if I would need to have a D ‘N’ C done or not.
I went in and lo and behold I was amazed to find out that there was still a baby. I had been carrying twins and didn’t even know it.
I was so happy and exhausted. I went home and took a nap. When I awoke it was to lose this baby too.
I was so depressed. My husband was of no help. If I even mentioned the babies he would say that he didn’t want to talk about it.
In my misery I saw things in a while new light. Years before a friend had miscarried her baby and I realized that I had not been there for her as I should have. I sat down and I poured my heart out to her and apologized profusely for not having been a better friend when she needed me to be.
She never got back with me.
I even contacted one of those hotlines and didn’t get any help.
Talk about being depressed.
Anyway, the reason that I mention this time of my life is because in doing some research recently about some health issues that I have been having I found out that over 30 million women and men have an underactive thyroid and that it can be the cause of miscarriage and birth of a premature baby.
If I had only known and had taken care of my thyroid sooner then maybe my babies would have survived. It’s possible.
You know, all the doctor’s that I saw while I was pregnant with Josh and not a one of them mentioned anything about checking my thyroid level.
I was bedridden for months at home, I was in the hospital for over 6 weeks and Josh was STILL 2 months premature.
I believe that my miscarriages and Josh being premature could very well have been caused by an under-active thyroid.
More recently I have been suffering from many items on this list and have been feeling quite poorly. I have been under a lot of stress with my uncle’s illness and subsequent death.
In doing research to determine the cause of my feeling poorly I was amazed to discover that I was suffering from an under-active thyroid gland and that not only was it behind my health issues now but most probably had been the reason behind the loss of my babies and why Josh was born premature.
I also found out that it is so common that, in doing a simple test at a local fair, researchers found that 50% of the people had a low thyroid and didn’t even know it.
I got to thinking about how some of the Biggest Loser contestants have wanted children. Some, like Sarah Nitta have had miscarriages before losing weight.
Could a low thyroid have anything to do with these people gaining the weight? Having trouble losing the weight? Could it be affecting any of you adversely?
I felt that it was important tp bring this information to you in order that if this is a problem for you that you can find out and take care of it.
You see, there is a very simple, cheap and easy test that you can do right now.
IODINE TINCTURE TEST:
All you need to do is to dab Iodine Tincture ( which costs only about $2 @ drug stores but do not get the decolorized) on body in 1-2 inch dot & then watch it.
If it has disappeared within 24 hours, you will need to reapply it.
Whenever you notice it is gone, reapply it
Repeat daily until the brown spot remains for 24 hours at which time you have successfully re-iodized yourself or your child.
Repeat at first of every month (or whenever you remember).
Now, Williss Langford wrote a paper about Hypothyroidism. He believed that there was a connection between it and Autism which makes me wonder if it could be connected to things like dementia and alzheimers. Now I don’t know this for certain but I know that I have been having trouble remembering lately and my thinking has been cloudy. Yet since starting to re-iodize myself I and much more clear headed and I feel better.
When I got my bottle of iodine I didn’t realize that it was decolorized. I put it on anyway and within hours I could feel a difference.
I managed to get a bottle of the brown iodine after using the clear for 2 days- since my symptoms were so bad I applied it 4-5 times a day.
When I applied the brown iodine on the 3rd day it disappeared within 5 hours. This was after having already applied it for 2 days so this tells me that my thyroid must have been extremely low.
Now, I am not a doctor but I will say that since starting the iodine therapy (simply applying it to my skin several times a day) I am sleeping much better, my thinking is clearer, my memory is better again, my skin is not nearly as dry, the nerve rash is fading and when I got up this morning I didn’t have all the aches and pains that I have been having lately.
And I figure that something this cheap, easy and non threatening is worth a try for anyone dealing with these issues. You do NOT drink the iodine. You simply put a circle of it on your skin. If your body absorbs it quickly (in less than 24 hours) then your thyroid needed the iodine. It’s as simple as that.
I think that all of the stress I have gone through over the years has taken it’s toll and my Uncle’s illness and death were simply the straw that broke the camels back so to speak.
Now I am hoping that by bring you this information that it will help those of you that need it. It is easily checked, cheap and easily fixed. One bottle of brown iodine can tell you if a low thyroid is a problem for you and it can re-iodize your thyroid.
Now some of these symptoms can also be from toxic overload and I plan to write more about that and what you can do about it very soon here. So please keep checking back.
I’ll be blogging about tonight’s Biggest Loser show and am hoping that this is the week that Conda gets sent home. I am so tired of her drama and placing the blame on everyone else. She reminds me of a certain family member that I have been having to deal with-UGH! Bad enough to deal with this in real life but to then see Conda doing the same crap is just too much.
See you all soon with a post about tonight’s Biggest Loser J I Cannot Wait!!!
