Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 16

Thursday, April 26th, 2012

Ok, so the contestants got wind of this shocking event that the producers were planning to bring back the eliminated contestants to compete and that whichever one won the challenge would get to come back to the Biggest Loser Ranch?

If these people have watched Biggest Loser at all then they should know that the Biggest Loser producers have done this forever. This is nothing new.

Ok, so now we see that they cannot say that they had no idea that this could happen. Even if they have not watched the Biggest Loser tv show, to see this has happened many times before, it WAS in their contract.

How many seasons has Biggest Loser brought back the eliminated contestants to allow one of them the opportunity to win a spot back on the ranch? I believe that the first season that they did that was when Ali won and was the first female to win the title of Biggest Loser. That would be season 5 if I am remembering correctly.

I know that Bob Harper said that they have always done it but I am not sure. I can’t remember them doing it before Ali but even if Biggest Loser only started to do this during season 5 we ARE in season 13. That alone would be plenty of notice that they might do it this season.

Then you see that the attorney pointed out that it was specified in each contestant’s contract that the Biggest Loser producers were planning from the start to give one of the eliminated contestants a spot in the finale.

Ok, so all 5 contestants- Mark, Jeremy, Conda, Buddy and Kim- are upset about this new twist huh?

So who do you think will walk off?

Will it be Mark?

Jeremy?

Conda?

Buddy?

Kim?

I really thought by they way that tonight’s Biggest Loser show was talked about online that it was going to be that Jeremy was the instigator when in reality it looks like Jeremy just had the misfortune to be the first contestant called into the room to talk with Alison Sweeny and the attorney for the Biggest Loser.

Ok, so it was Mark and Buddy that went home.

I am surprised that Mark and Buddy left. I really had thought that Conda and Jeremy would be the instigators of the controversial Biggest Loser Walk Off that we told you about when it happened back in February.

I would like to say Kudos to Kim, Jeremy and Conda for seeing the big picture and sticking it out on the show.

Although I am seeing that there is quite a few of you that believe that Conda and Jeremy DID instigate this whole thing in hopes that at least some of the others would walk off thus increasing their chances of Conda and Jeremy being in the finale.

Is that what YOU think?

Who did Mark and Buddy hurt by walking off the Biggest Loser Ranch?

Themselves! Their family’s.

When they were this close to being in the finale I think that it was just plain stupid to walk out like they did.

They spout that it was the “Right Thing To Do”

Well, considering that they are both ministers I have to wonder what kind of message that they are sending to their family, their communities, the world.

If they are men of God then I would think that keeping their word would be important to them. Having signed the contract and then breaking that contract is not the act of an honorable man. Is it?

And legally that is breach of contract.

They could face a lawsuit.

Mark said about him being only 11 pounds from his goal weight and so he felt that it wasn’t hurting him any to walk out.

BUT by walking out he forfeited any chance of winning either the Biggest Loser or the at home prize.

I would think that $250,000 or $100,000 would allow them to help their congregation and their community’s a lot.

To me I would think that stating that they firmly believe that this move by the Biggest Loser producers is wrong but since they are honorable men that they would fulfill their contract. And that they were continuing to stay on the Biggest Loser Ranch, not only to honor their word but, knowing that by doing so that they could use that prize money to help many people in need.

They could have stated that by taking the high road that it would be to the betterment of so many people in need during these tough economic times.

Now THAT I would have liked to see.

So, Mark and Buddy are gone and we now see the Biggest Loser contestants watching video of when they started on the Biggest Loser Ranch. They were reminded of what they looked like when they first started on the Biggest Loser Ranch and how far they have come.

Conda got to see how she behaved and she seemed to be embarrassed, and ashamed, by her behavior.

It always amazes me at how much the contestants have changed in the last 4 months on the ranch.

Now for the weigh-in:

Conda    -10=

Kim   162-15=147    105   9.26%

Jeremy 249-10=239

Jeremy may have lost 10 pounds and that is a good number at this point but it was not enough.

Jeremy fell below the red line and he is not the Biggest Loser.

And then Alison calls in the eliminated contestants.

***UPDATE*** ‘NBC publicity has shared an update on last night’s episode. As of now, Mark and Buddy are planning to attend finale, but they will not be eligible for any prize money. There will  not be any legal ramifications for their decision to leave the show. “They chose to leave and the show wishes them well,” said Jill Carmen with NBC.’

Now I have to say that they should have made an example of Mark and Buddy simply to be able to nip this in the bud should anyone else ever get the idea to do this.

This upset the whole show and this is the reason why we have only seen 1 hour episodes for a while now in an effort to make what footage they had last long enough to get them to the finale.

So, Mark and Buddy walked off and we end up getting cheated out of hours of seeing Biggest Loser?

I am very disappointed in these 2 men that are supposed to be men of God and yet they feel that they don’t need to honor their word?

I think that they should be ashamed of themselves for their childish behaviour. Honest, honorable people keep their word. They might protest a wrong but 2 wrongs don’t make it right and breach of contract is wrong.

If you or I were to do such a thing, if we did not honor a contract that we signed, we would be made to pay for such actions. I think that the only reason that they are getting away with it is because they DID get Biggest Loser a lot of free publicity.

What do YOU think?

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 17

Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

Well tonight, April 24, 2012 is the last episode with the contestants on the ranch. Next week is the live finale. Yes, it is here already! Who can believe it?

We left off last week with Alison calling in all the eliminated contestants (minus Mark and Buddy who walked off the ranch last week).

Alison Sweeny made it clear that if you walk off the ranch that you are NOT eligible for the prize money.

Gee, who could she have been talking about? Jlol

The eliminated players are back for a chance to fight for the last spot in the finale. Jeremy is determined that he will win and be back in the final 3.

The contestants find out that there will be a 4 part challenge and the one that wins will be the third contestant in the Biggest Loser finale next week.

The first part is a weigh-in to see who has lost the most weight since they first stepped on the ranch. The top 8 contestants go on to the next round and the bottom 7 leave the Biggest Loser Ranch for good.

Here are the results of the weigh-in:

Jeremy lost 150lbs.        38.56%

Chris 240- 74=166           30.83%

Megan 259- 70=189         27.03%

Kimmy 219-65=154          29.68%

Emily 264- 89+175            33.71%

Cassandra 239- 81=158   33.89%

Lauren 246-74 =172 (more than 63) 30.08%

Mike 358-114=244 (more than 95)    31.84%

Chism 361- 96=265     26.59%                                eliminated

Daphne 271- 67 lbs=204  24.72%                           eliminated

Roy 306-79 = 227 ( more than 75)   25.82%           eliminated

Adrian 370-79=291(more than 95)   21.35%           eliminated

Nancy 217-49=168(more than 56)    22.58%          eliminated

Gail 322-73=249 (more than 83)     22.67%            eliminated

Ben 396-99=297(more than 107)   25.00%             eliminated

Those that go on to the next round of this competition are:

- Jeremy

- Cassandra

- Emily

- Chris

- Kimmy

- Lauren

- Mike

- Megan

Jeremy is worried about not being the 3rd finalist. Conda gives him a pep talk and then asks him if he wants to be alone. “Sure” Jeremy says. Conda says “Don’t be a Donny Downer all night” as she walks out the door. J

Dolvett gets the makings for sandwiches and says to Jeremy “You’re not even a cook and you can make sandwiches like these”

Jeremy smiles and says “If I can do it, anyone can”

Mike has made such great strides. He is so much happier and nicer to be around. He has lost a lot of weight but it goes so much deeper than that. We are proud of you Mike. You have come so far J

Chris was told that since she is not medically cleared to compete in this challenge that she will not be in the final 3.

Ok, so the next challenge is for everyone to run 100 yards- the same place that they all ran 40 yards on the first day. Only the first five to cross the finish line will be able to move on to part 3 of the challenge.

Who are the 5 to cross the finish line first?

- Cassandra

- Lauren

- Megan

- Mike

- Jeremy

The 3rd challenge has the contestants having to complete a puzzle like they did in their very first challenge. They each have a stack of puzzle pieces and they need to match the food with the correct amount of calories. Only three will be able to move on to the final round.

- Mike

- Jeremy

- Lauren

The 4th challenge is all about endurance. The contestants have to balance on top of a post while holding onto a ticket to the finale. They have to keep their hand on their ticket and be the last person still standing in order to win their spot in the final 3.

Jeremy spent the whole time talking and trying to psyche the other 2 contestants out. He concentrated on Lauren first.

Ali asked Conda if Jeremy is like this at home. Conda says “What? Relentless?”

Ali said yes and Conda said…

“YES!”

Ali told Jeremy that he had been talking for 50 minutes straight and Lauren asked for earplugs :-) lol

They went to 1 foot at about 2 hours and 21 minutes.

Who do you think is going to win it?

Lauren started to get dizzy and then she fell after standing on 1 foot for over 10 minutes. She fell at 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Now it is down to being between Mike or Jeremy.

We are at 3 hours now.

Who will last?

3 hours and 10 minutes.

Both are figeting. Who will fall?

Mike fell.

And Jeremy is the winner!

Conda starts crying happy tears for her brother and gives him a hug.

Who is happy that Jeremy made it back to be the third person in the final 3?

I am sure that some people will be happy and others of you will be really upset.

I find it ironic that the final 3 are all people that everyone was disgusted with earlier in the season. I do think that these 3 have grown during their time at he Biggest Loser Ranch.

Sure Conda still has a bit more growing to do as noticed when she said that Jeremy deserved to be there at the ranch more than Kim when Jeremy only lost the 10 pounds last week.

I understand that she was upset and disappointed but Kim worked hard too and when all is said and done many think that Conda is only in the final 3 because Jeremy helped her through so many challenges.

But, I think that Conda has improved and I will give her credit for that. She realized how awful she acted and sounded and she was embarrassed and ashamed at her behavior.

I am not saying that she is an Angel but I do give her credit for the changes she has made in how she is both inside and out.

I did notice back a while ago that Kim and Conda weren’t so buddy buddy anymore and have noticed great improvements in Kim’s behavior for some time now.

I think that so much of people being upset with Jeremy was because he is Conda’s brother and because he kept helping her. So many people wanted to see Conda go home.

In seeing this and not being one to like people being rewarded for bad behavior I went ahead and started a petition to get the producers to either re-edit the show (if Conda wasn’t as bad as we were being led to believe that she was) or to not allow Conda to win at the finale. If they even would allow her to attend due to her conduct while on the Biggest Loser Ranch.

It wasn’t that I was out to get Conda. I simply was upset and saw that many of you all were too and wanted to go about changing something that I felt was wrong in the right way (unlike a couple of people I could mention).

Well, we got quite a few signatures (thank you -smile) and we got the Biggest Loser producers to make changes in how the show was edited. This made for a much nicer show to watch.

While watching up until this time I found myself screaming at the tv and getting so angry. Where as before I would yell at the tv but I also laughed and cried tears of joy for the contestants.

I know some of you have still been upset at how Season 13 of Biggest Loser has been but I saw enough of an improvement that I was able to once again enjoy my favorite show.

Sure, I still found myself wanting Conda to go home. Partly because I was still upset over her past behavior and partly because of things that she would do or say that week.

But, even though I am still disgusted with her initial behavior, I am one to give a person a second chance if they are attempting to change what they did wrong and I do feel that Conda has been doing so.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that she would be my first pick for the Biggest Loser Season 13 finale but I won’t feel so badly if she were to win as what I would have a couple of months or so ago.

Now who do I really want to win?

I don’t know. My absolute first choices are in the running for the at home prize. I do feel like I would choose between Jeremy and Kim simply because a part of me does feel that maybe Conda would not have made it this far if Jeemy hadn’t helped her so many times.

Kim was pretty awful at first too. Maybe not as bad as Conda but she got sucked into the whole drama thing and had her moments too.

Hmm…Jeremy? Was he really that bad or was he just guilty by association? Being Conda’s brother probably got him a lot of flack but was it warranted?

I am not sure.

But with the changes and the growth that I have seen in these three I don’t think that I will find myself screaming at the tv next Tuesday night (May 1st?). It will nice to be able to actually enjoy it.

It seems like Biggest Loser Season 13 has been so long and yet in some ways it has gone by so fast. I look forward to seeing the finale and finding out who wins it  but I am sad to see it go. I hate going a whole Summer without a new Biggest Loser to look forward to untill Fall.

Yet it looks like this Summer will be a busy one for Josh and I. So while we will miss Biggest Loser and all of you we will look forward to seeing you all again this Fall. We will post anytime w have something new to tell you about the Biggest Loser and/or it’s contestants.

BTW, we do have some things to tell you about some current and former contestants and we are sure that as Summer progresses there will be more. We will post these items asap so please continue to check back here often.

I plan on posting some on Saturday and of course we will see you next week  :-)

Take care

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 15

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Makeover week continued on the Biggest Loser episode aired April 10, 2012. It was the second part of the makeover episode due to the Biggest Loser only being on 1 hour last week and this week because of The Voice.

We left off with the contestants getting ready to meet First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House and everyone was pretty excited.

Bob had the honor of introducing Michelle Obama to the contestants and their families. Mrs. Obama welcomed them all to the White House and told them that she is a big fan of The Biggest Loser tv show. She complimented them on all the weight that they have lost and how much they have changed since being on the Biggest Loser Ranch.
The contestants were amazed that the First Lady had actually been watching them and knew all about them.

Bob announced that they were all going to work out with First Lady Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama remarked about being scared and joked with Bob and Dolvett about how she has secret service watching them. All of the contestants and their families laughed at that.

Everyone gets ready to workout by putting on their workout clothes and as Mrs. Obama walked past Buddy he put his fist up and got a fist bump from her. Buddy says that he is going to call her his “firsty”.

The FIrst Lady talks about the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge. She says it is something that she and President Obama are urging all Americans should do as a family to get fit. This challenge asks people to eat healthy and get active ( adults for 30 minutes a day and kids for 60 minutes a day) for six consecutive weeks.

The Biggest Loser contestants are to get people to sign up for this challenge under them. The contestant that signs up the most people to participate will win having a gym built in their community.

Later Chris talks with her husband Roy. He says that he misses her, that he has been a little low and extremely lonely. Chris asked him if he needs her to come home. Roy said “yes”.
Chris said ok but you could tell that her heart wasn’t really in it. She has really blossomed in these last weeks on the Biggest Loser. She has opened up, seemed so much happier and now with her new makeover she is looking so much younger.
I just had an epiphany. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised to find out that Chris’s kids saw how great Mom looked and called Roy up, “Hey Dad!…..”. I think that Roy found out about Chris looking so young and got worried. So, when Chris called shortly thereafter Roy saw his chance to get her to come home.
I could be wrong but it sure fits. Roy is older than Chris and hearing how much younger she looks and how wonderful he probably got concerned that he could lose her.

Maybe I am all wrong but I feel that this would explain why he would insist on her coming home when she was so close to being in the finale.

Later, Chris said that she didn’t know what to do because she was under so much pressure. So she did the only thing that she knew to find comfort and that was to binge eat.

During the last chance workout Chris looks guilty. Bob asked her if she was throwing in the towel. Chris told Bob that she doesn’t feel like she has a choice because she has stuff going on at home that she needs to deal with. Bob is upset that Roy wants Chris to come home when she is doing so well and is so close to being in the finale.
Bob talks to Chris about how marriage is supposed to be give and take. Chris starts to cry. Bob tells her that her options are that she can either stay on the Biggest Loser Ranch or she can go home and that she needs to make a decision & then she needs to stand by her decision.
Chris then tells Bob she is going to stay on the ranch and work her a** off to stay above the yellow line because she doesn’t want to be the old Chris anymore.

Ok, so now for the weigh-in

Jeremy 260 to 249 -11 4.23%
Buddy 269 to 260 -9 3.72% (1 pound advantage)
Mark 200 to 196 -4 2.00%
Conda 210 to 205 -5 1.90% (1 pound disadvantage)

Kim 164 to 162 -2 1.22%
Chris 170 to 172 +2

Chris gained 2 pounds after all she ate. She said that she is not surprised she didn’t lose any weight and that she was just trying to eliminate the pain.
Bob talks about binge eating and how bad people feel after they do it and says that he hopes that she learns from this mistake.

Conda voted for Chris and said that she felt that if Chris stayed that her heart would be at home.

Buddy voted for Chris too and said that while he likes Chris he feels like Kim is a sister to him and so he couldn’t vote for Kim.

And so, Chris is eliminated.

Now, as time has passed I like Kim better since she isn’t all buddy buddy with Conda. She seems so much nicer than she did at first. But I must say that for all the fussing that certain people did about Adrian saying things at inappropriate times I felt that Kim crying right when Chris was just eliminated took away from Chris’s moment.

I like Chris and was sad to see her go home. I was hoping that she would be able to go to the finale. I would have liked to see Chris have her moment to talk when she was eliminated like everyone else has been able to.

Now, on the other hand I do understand why Kim cried and told Buddy how much his words meant to her. It was sweet of Buddy to say that. Anyway, so Kim and Buddy hug. Then Alison told Chris that she is sorry but Chris is not the Biggest Loser.

Chris says she is just thankful that she has been given this opportunity and that she is going home to her family and that she now has so many new, close friends, and a sense of accomplishment after losing so much weight.

When Chris first arrived at the Biggest Loser Ranch she weighed 240 pounds. Now she weighs just 156 pounds.

Chris tells about how she looks for opportunities to get more exercise like walking down to the mailbox and riding her bike to the grocery store. Chris told how she and Roy do a lot of biking and they work out at the gym together.

Her kids talk about that since their mom has come home they are all exercising more.

And Chris tells that after the Finale that she and Roy plan on riding across the country on bikes!!!

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 14

Tuesday, April 17th, 2012

Tonight was the much anticipated makeover week on the Biggest Loser. This means that the Biggest Loser Season 13 finale is just around the corner.

Biggest Loser opens with Conda and Jeremy talking about Megan going home. Conda is upset about having to choose between sending 1 friend or the other home. Jeremy tells her that Megan will be ok, that she will figure it out.

I was shocked to hear Conda admit that she is abrasive and then got a bit of a chuckle over that. Abrasive? That was sure the understatement of the year if the first weeks of the Biggest Loser were any indication of how ‘abrasive’ she is.

Now for the challenge

We see a large picture of each contestant. When the contestants walk up for the challenge they are shocked to see how they looked just 14 weeks ago.
The challenge is for them was to break a window, that has 2 panes of glass, and has a picture of them inside it. They must use a large slingshot and break each of the 2 panes with balls.
The first person who finishes the challenge wins a one pound advantage. The player who finishes last gets a one pound disadvantage instead. No one wants to finish last.

Well, Kim was the first one to break part of her window.
Buddy hit his window.
Chris’s second attempt broke one of the panes of her glass

Buddy won? Wow!
So, the challenge winner is Buddy. He wins a 1 pound advantage and for someone who has been having to sit on the sidelines for the challenges for a bit Buddy sure did well on this first time back in the challenges, didn’t he?
And Conda finished last, getting her the one pound disadvantage
Fashion expert Jeannie Mai helps each contestant to find fashionable new clothes to wear when they go to the White House to meet Michelle Obama.
But before they head off to the White House, they go to celebrity stylist Ken Paves’ salon to complete their new looks. And isn’t it amazing how much different they all look after their makeovers?
Who do you think looks the most changed?
I was floored at how much different and younger Chris looked with her new hair, make-up and clothes.
I think that Buddy and Mark both look younger too and Mark looks better with his goatee gone don’t you think? The gray goatee aged him.
Conda surprised me by getting her hair cut and donating it to Locks For Love.
Kim looked amazing too didn’t she? And how great for her to find out that she is now in a size when she got her new clothes.
I know that when you lose weight it is hard to really see yourself, that new thinner you. But when you find out that you are now fitting into smaller sizes then you have to finally believe it.

For those of you wondering how each contestant stacks up for weight loss numbers (and percentages) here is a chart for you to see that at the time this

Contestant Age Height Starting
Weight Recent
Weight Pounds
Lost Percentage
Lost
Kim 38 5’ 07” 252 162 90 -35.7%
Jeremy 22 5’ 08” 389 253 136 -35%
Buddy 42 6’ 08” 403 263 140 -34.7%
Mark 43 6’ 00” 291 198 93 -32%
Conda 24 5’ 05” 294 205 89 30.3%
Chris 42 5’ 03” 240 169 71 29.6%

chart was created Kim was in the lead for weight loss with Jeremy a mere 0.7 behind her.
Conda and Chris are close for last place. But. when you take into consideration the fact that Conda’s starting weight was 54 pounds more than Chris weighed then Conda should have lost more weight by now.
Chris is down to 169 pounds so she doesn’t have a lot more to lose when you take into consideration that part of that is muscle and muscle weighs more than fat does.

Here is a chart showing the Biggest Loser contestants starting BMI and their more recent BMI numbers

Contestant Starting
BMI Recent
BMI
Kim 39.5 25.4
Jeremy 59.1 38.5
Buddy 54.7 35.7
Mark 39.5 26.9
Conda 48.9 34.1
Chris 42.5 29.9

Biggest Loser Dolvett Broke His Leg

Thursday, April 5th, 2012

dolvetteq

In case you hadn’t heard it seems that Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince was working out on a trampoline and broke his leg on Thursday March 29th 2012.

In this season’s Biggest Loser it is all about No Excuses and Dolvett is taking this motto to heat as well. When he was asked how he would be able to continue to exercise he said that he would be working on his upper body and using creativity to keep fit while his broken leg heals.

Here is a pic that Dolvett has shared

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 13

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

This week’s excuse on the Biggest Loser? Exercise is Boring

On this week’s episode, March 27, 2012, we saw some season 12 contestants return to the Biggest Loser. Becky, Vinny and Antoine.

Why have they returned to the Biggest Loser Ranch? Well,  they will be judging the contestants’ dishes in this week’s cooking challenge which was a little later in the show.

To start we learn that 1 in 6 Americans struggle with hunger.

and more than 16 million kids do not have enough food to nourish their growing minds and body. These are sad statistics that I don’t think that many people realize.

Since 1982 Paul Newman and Newman’s Own has given over $330 Million to thousands of charities.

Having been there and done that I understand more than many how awful it is to not only go to bed hungry but to spend the day that way too.

Luckily that was a long time ago but once you have been in a situation like that the memory lingers on. This has caused me to have issues with not having enough food in the house in case of emergencies and I am sure that it has something to do with my weight issues. Once you know that deep hunger you never forget it and you never want o go through it again.

Ok, now it is time for the pop challenge.

The contestants have to load 150 boxes each of food on trucks. Half are 15 pounds and half are 20 pounds.

The first player to do it will be lucky enough to have 30,749 pounds of food donated to their local food bank. That equals 1 pound of food for every pound of weight ever lost on the Biggest Loser.

The contestant that loads all of their boxes first will also win a one pound advantage. This is a wonderful challenge with winners all around. Not only does the winner get the 1 pound advantage but their local community benefits too.

We’d like to thank Newman’s Own for supplying the food that is to be donated and for all of the food that they have donated to help to feed the hungry.

It didn’t take long to see that this challenge was really a competition between Kim and Mark with Kim in the lead for most of it. Shortly into this competition Kim had loaded half her boxes already but a miss-step in her strategy was her downfall.

Kim had chosen to load the lighter weight boxes first which WAS quicker but left her loading the heavier boxes once she was already starting to get tired.

Mark’s strategy just the opposite and that was what won him the 1 pound advantage. The winner of this challenge was Mark though Kim put up a good fight and it was pretty close up until the last.

After Mark loaded all of his boxes we learned that if the other players finished the challenge that everybody’s hometown would get a truck full of food too.

So, Mark asked if he could help and Alison said “Yes” and he went over and started helping Jeremy. Once his boxes were all loaded then they all helped Chris, Kim and so on until everyone’s truck was loaded.

I liked how everyone was helping everyone. It was a very touching part of this week’s Biggest Loser. How much nicer than all the drama that we were seeing for so long this season.

Bob gives Megan a video camera so she can produce a video diary of what she does this week when he is not on the ranch.

Bob takes his contestants on a bike ride. Conda complained the whole time but Megan showed us what she can do and she did a great job!

Dolvet decided to spice things up a bit, and show everyone that exercise need not be boring, by taking his contestants to a Zumba class. The contestants found that it made exercise seem more like fun than exercise.

We saw a whole new side to Buddy. I got such a kick out of him. He just seemed to bloom and this became one of my favorite parts of this week’s episode.

Then Dolvett announced each contestant’s starting weight and had them tell their current weight. Everyone in the class was amazed at how much weight the Biggest Loser contestants had all lost.

Then it was off to the grocery store for the contestants to start their next challenge. They had to come up with a recipe for the upcoming cooking challenge and they only had 7 minutes to get all the ingredients to create their chosen recipe.

7 minutes in an unfamiliar store is not a lot of time which the contestants found out. Chris especially had a hard time with this when she was unable to find the honey easily. She finally managed to locate it though.

Now Jeremy was a story all his own JLOL. He decided to make French toast which I guess is about the extent of his culinary ability. He got bread, bananas and some other items. Time was running out but he made it across the finish line with just seconds to spare only to discover that he was missing a key ingredient……

EGGS!

What to do? What to do? You can’t make French toast without eggs. The other contestants ribbed Jeremy a bit. You only need 2 ingredients to make French toast and Jeremy forgot one of them.

Ok so when they get back at the ranch, Alison reminds them that they will have 20 minutes to cook their meals and the winner gets $1,000 per pound that they lose this week.

Here is a breakdown of who is cooking what:

Chris is cooking Broccoli & Cheese stuffed Chicken with Orange Honey Dipping Sauce.

Buddy is making Tropical Grilled Chicken Salad.

Kim is making Teriyaki Beef on a Portobello Mushroom – which she has never cooked before.

Megan is making Seared Tilapia on Grilled Vegetables.

Conda is making Spicy Cabbage Stew with Ground Turkey.

And Jeremy? In trying to find a way to use his French toast ingredients, minus the crucial eggs, Jeremy decided to cook his bananas and took the last large burner which was what Chris needed to cook her Broccoli & Cheese stuffed Chicken.

Chris is complaining that Jeremy has a large burner and all that is left are small burners that don’t put out enough heat.

Jeremy finally takes his fried bananas off the heat and Chris moves in, but as time runs out, she finds her chicken is still pink inside.  Time runs out and Chris tells us she is mortified that the chicken is not completely cooked.

Alison then introduces Vinnie, Antone and Becky from Season 12 who will judge their meals.

They all look fantastic!
Jeremy is first to take his dish in to the judges. He serves them his ‘Jeremy’s Banana Surprise’ -a whole grain bread covered with lowfat cream cheese and strawberry jam and then topped with cooked banana and apples.

Total calories of 208, total fat 2g and sodium 417 mg.

The judges couldn’t believe it took Jeremy the whole 20 minutes to prepare his dish.

Then Megan served her tilapia

Total 430 calories, fat 21g and 859 mg sodium.  The judges are impressed up until they saw the sodium content of her dish.

Conda  served her cabbage stew

Total 305 calories, 8g fat, 517mg sodium.  Vinnie loved it.  Conda returns to the kitchen and tells them “Done, See ya…. Winning”

Chris goes in to serve her broccoli stuffed chicken breast – 393 calories, 15g fat, 551mg sodium.  She does not want to serve it because the chicken is not completely cooked.   Antone noticed that Chris’s chicken is not done. Chris tells them she knew it was a risk, but she is not on a cooking show, she is on a weight-loss show and they should have given her more time.

I think that she should have mentioned that she only had a small burner to cook her chicken.

Antone was not impressed to hear Chris giving an excuse in the ‘season of no excuses’.

Mark served his Marinated Chicken

Total 446 calories, 24g fat, 599 mg sodium.  Antone told Becky and Vinnie that adding feta cheese raised the calories and fat content and was not necessary for flavor

Buddy serves his tropical chicken

Total 432 calories, 28g fat, 316mg sodium.  All three judges are appalled to find out Buddy used real mayo and felt that he should have used low fat mayo instead.

Kim brings in her Teriyake beef – 330 calories, 17g fat, 468mg sodium.  Antone says the dish was fantastic.

Kim walks back into the kitchen and says “They said that they like Jeremy’s better”

Megan said “They did not!” and everyone chuckled.

The judges came in and announced Kim as the winner.

Antone called Chris on her raw chicken in front of everyone. I felt bad for her. How was she to know that she would end up with a small burner? Who would expect Jeremy to cook bananas? And it seems to me that Chris is a bit of a shy person. She was so quiet when she first came on the Biggest Loser and has finally stared to open up and really shine lately.

Antone bringing up her mistake in front of everyone embarrassed her. I can understand that. But when all was said and done it turned out that this awful calamity for Chris was an opportunity for her learn.

How many of us need to use our awful moments as opportunities to learn? Probably many of us.

I love Bob’s outfit that he wore for the last chance workout. Too cute when Bob walked in wearing his striped t-shirt thinking it looks like he is a referee and Chris says to him “I’m trying to figure out if this outfit has anything to do with our workout today”

I think that it was Conda that said “It’s a referee. He’s a referee”

Then Chris pipes up with “Or jail!” And everyone laughed.

Bob chuckled and said about workouts don’t need to be boring and neither do your workout clothes J

The weigh in:

Kim   171 to 164  -7  4.09%  (and wins $7000)
Conda  217 to 210  -7  3.23%
Chris  174 to 170  -4  2.30%
Jeremy 266 to 260  -6  2.26%
Buddy  275 to 269  -6  2.18%

Megan  195 to 191  -4  2.05%
Mark   200 to 200  -0  with one pound advantage .5%

Megan and Mark are below the yellow line and up for elimination.  Alison congratulates Kim for winning $7000 and being the Biggest Loser of the week.

So it ends up with Mark and Megan being below the yellow line. Considering that Mark didn’t lose any weight at all I think that he should be the one to go home this week.

Alas, it was Megan who was sent home. But she seems to be doing great at home and is now engaged to be married. It seems that her boyfriend will be supportive of her in her weight loss goals as he has lost weight since Megan has been on the Biggest Loser Ranch.

***UPDATE*** It seems that not only is Megan getting married but that Conda is going to be one of her bridesmaids. Hmmm, Conda voted Megan off the ranch yet she gets to be a bridesmaid? Either Megan is VERY forgiving or else there is a lot that goes on at the Biggest Loser Ranch that we don’t see and maybe Conda isn’t quite as bad as we all thought? Then again, she DID say and do all of those things or else Biggest Loser couldn’t have videotaped them.

What are your thoughts on this?

Now don’t forget that Biggest Loser will only be 1 hour April 3, 2012

Chuckle for the day?

‘I want to get a dog and name her Naked so I can tell people that I need to go walk naked down the street’ :-) LOL

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 12

Saturday, March 24th, 2012

Alison said that they have all proven that they can lose weight and that they can even go home and lose weight. Now it is time for them to prove they can lose weight while on vacation

They are going to HAWAII!

WhoHoo! The Biggest Loser contestants are on Hawaii. Isn’t it beautiful?

Ha! Did you see Bob and Dolvett come gliding in on the water?

So the contestants are going to learn to surf? Bethany Hamilton from the movie “Soul Surfer”

She is an inspiration to all. A shark bit off her arm and she still went on to become a professional surfer. It is an amazing movie. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it.

Bob tells the contestants to get out of the canoes and Megan looks over the edge and says “Ah, there’s things in there. I’m not getting in there”

After knowing how Bethany had a shark bite off her arm I think I would be leary of getting in the water there too J

Chris was the first Biggest Loser contestant to surf, then Buddy did it. Conda and then Kim.

Kimmy is just learning to swim and now she is supposed to surf? Dolvett is afraid of creatures in the water and he has never surfed before. So watching these people all surf for the first time was fun to watch.

A 200 pound person burns between 250-290 calories surfing for 1 hour. Yeh, I will be doing a LOT of surfing here in MI Jlol

In the challenge we saw Chris be a force to be reckoned with. It came down between Chris and Kim.

Chris guessed 1260 calories for 24 macadamia nuts covered with chocolate

Kim guessed 518

I told Josh that Chris had this. I figured out that her answer was 52.5 calories each. Well if macadamia nuts have a lot of fat and you have them covered with chocolate then I thought that Chris’s answer was more apt to be right than the 21.58 that Kim said.

The answer was 1320

Bob recommends doing the following exercises to lose weight and get fit

20 jumping jacks

20 lunges

20 pushups

You should do 3-5 sets to lose weight and get fit.

Kim and Mark put a leigh on Chris’s tiki

Kimmy put the death lei on Kim’s tiki

Megan is now out of the competition.

Conda has no leis on her tiki?

Why?

Mark has three and finally puts one on Conda

Down to Jeremy, Conda and Mark

7 for Mark, 3 Conda, Jeremy 5

Jeremy actually put one on Conda’s so he can get Mark to help take Conda out and then he plans to finish off Mark.

9 Mark

9 Jeremy

8 Conda

Jeremy put a lei on Mark

Conda has immunity? UGH! If she gains weight she will no longer have immunity. Oh Conda, why don’t you go have some of those lava flow’s (at 490 calories each)?

Ok, here we go time for the weigh-in. Conda is up first to get weighed.

I find myself chanting 222, 222, 222!

If Conda gains just 1 pound she doesn’t have immunity. I know that the drama has been less and Biggest Loser is much more enjoyable but Conda made a lot of enemies with her behavior and just because the producers might not be showing these things now doesn’t mean that Conda has changed. I just really hate the idea of someone being rewarded for behaving the way that Conda has on the Biggest Loser.

Maybe at home she is nice. I doubt it but I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. The thing is though that if someone acts the way that Conda has acted then I don’t see this as being totally new behavior for her. I don’t see someone that is a sweetheart going on the Biggest Loser and immediately treating people the way that she has.

It doesn’t seem logical to me.

And Jeremy? While he seems a nice enough guy it seems to me that he is Conda’s enabler. I am glad we don’t have Conda’s nastiness thrown in our face anymore but I find it hard to just forget it when it was so bad for so long. How many of you feel the same?

The weigh in results:

Conda 221- 4=217  1.81%

Chris 177-3=  2.26%

Mark 204-4=100  1.96%        91 pounds since starting on the Biggest Loser

Jeremy 273-7= 266    2.56%            123 pounds since starting on the Biggest Loser

Megan 198-3=195   she needed to lose 4 to be safe     1.52%

Chris is safe

Buddy 281-6=27    2.14%

Buddy is safe

Kimmy 163-2=161 1.23%

Kim 176-5=171

Mark   Kimmy

Jeremy  Kimmy

Buddy  Kimmy

So Kimmy goes home. She started at 219 and now weighs 154

Next week on the Biggest Loser?

The more weight that they lose the more cash they can win.

Biggest Loser Season 13 Week 11

Thursday, March 15th, 2012

I hope that you all watched the Biggest Loser Tuesday night? Wow! It is hard to believe that we are already in week 11. And have you noticed that they are not showing the drama anymore.

The Biggest Loser producers heard our voice and they listened. They have now toned down the drama to the point that it is like the old Biggest Loser that most of us know and love. Don’t ya love it??? J

Conda even seems …..dare I say?…….NICE? JLOL

One of the Biggest Loser contestants that went home weeks ago did say that Conda has a nice side to her. I guess that is what we are seeing now. Will it last as we get closer to the Biggest Loser finale?

Or, is Conda one of the 2 contestants that were sent home after the Biggest Loser contestants walked off? Hmmm, we will have to see.

So on to this week’s Biggest Loser…..

This week’s excuse is “I don’t believe in myself”

And then there were 9

Nine contestants left at the Biggest Loser Ranch that is.

This week the contestants go to singles and we see the return of the dreaded yellow line.

Emily starts off talking about Cassandra going home and how she thinks that she and Kim have a target on their back. This is confirmed by Jeremy saying that if either of them is below the yellow line that he will send them home.

It’s funny that Conda had told the red team that Emily and Cassandra wanted an all girl alliance and now look who is gone from the ranch? Both Emily and Cassandra.

Megan says that once it goes to 7 contestants left that she doesn’t feel that here will be any more drama. Hmmm….who are the 2 that she is talking about?

Time for the challenge.

All of the contestants are tied to a ring in the center of the ring. Their goal is to hit their buzzer in front of them but they have to pull everyone else with them.

Chris doesn’t look too confidant

There are 9 prizes available. You know the white elephant game?

We find out that Buddy has a stress fracture in his tibia so he can’t compete in challenges right now and will need to exercise with care so that he doesn’t make it worse. So Buddy gets 9th place prize.

Jeremy feels this is his challenge to win. Is he right?

Well, yes and no.

Conda had her hand on her rope and got pulled away from it.

Jeremy reaches down to grab his rope and falls flat on his face. He finally wins but he has help from his sister Conda.

He feels he’s going to end up with a sweet gift after this. Is he right? What will he win? Will it be money? A pound advantage?

First place got Jeremy……

He ends up with…

A GOLDFISH!

Now Mark and Megan are determined that they will be the next one to win.

Who will it be?

Mark finally decides that Megan is tough competition and it would be easier to help her to win and get her out of it so he can win the next round.

Megan is second.

Kimmy is upset that Megan and Jeremy won by someone helping them to win…..and the fact that no one is helping her might have a little bit to do with it

Mark is in 3rd place because Chris helped him

Kim and Conda face off and Conda gets 4th place

Chris won 5th place without any help at all. Who would have thought it? I think that Chris is more competition than some of these people realize.

Kimmy got 6th place

Kim got 7th place

And Emily got 8th. Emily was crying because she was embarrassed

Buddy- Biggest Loser hat

Emily-phone for the day

Kim Stone (Mother of Megan)-signed pic of Alison Sweeny

Kim Neilson- a large box of chocolates which she kept so Emily could call her family

Chris- 1 pound advantage but Conda took it and gave up her $1 to Chris

Mark-gets 2 votes if he stays above the yellow line

Megan gets a goldfish but trades it for the 1 pound advantage

Jeremy got a shopping spree for a day with a celebrity and traded it for Conda’s goldfish so that she could take one of the girls with her to enjoy a day of shopping and that is how Jeremy won first place and ended up with a goldfish.

Dolvett says the fun starts now…Hello Fun! Jlol that’s funny

Bob Harper says that now that the yellow line has been introduced this season everyone is responsible for their own actions and he is seeing some real competitiveness now

Emily is teaching Bob about Olympic weightlifting.

Bob says that Emily “is a good coach. She’s a mean coach, mean, she’s a little tough”

Bob does a great job but then turns around and trips. Everyone laughs. This was a good moment that made me smile.

Conda took Kim with her on her shopping spree and as soon as they walked out the door Buddy said “Ok, let’s talk about voting them off now!”

Josh and I both laughed at that. We are sure that he was kidding. Or was he? JLOL

Their shopping spree was with Jessica Simpson. It looked like they had a great time and got some nice outfits. I am not big on fashion but hey if someone told me that I could have whatever I wanted in the store I think that I might have fun J

Kimmy has a fear of heights so what does Dolvett do? Takes her to climb a 40 foot rock wall. Oh JOY!

Kimmy admits that food means survival and comfort because of how she grew up. Her mother had issues and didn’t want them to eat as she felt that it would purify their body

Now the weigh-in results…

( ) is their starting weight

Kimmy (219) 167 -4=163

Conda (294) 228-7=221

Jeremy (3   )282-9=273    Has lost 116 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Megan (259) 204-6=198   Has lost 61 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Buddy (403) 289-8=281    Has lost 122 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Kim (252)  182-6=176   Has lost 76 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Chris (240) 184-7=177    Chris was on the top of the leader-board for a few minutes J

Mark (291) 213-9=204   Has lost 87 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Emily (264) 195-5=190  Has lost 74 pounds since getting on the Biggest Loser Ranch

Everyone complains about Chris not losing much weight last week but I think that she could be a much bigger threat that any of them might think. You could see that in how well she did in the challenge and how she was at the top of the leader-board, even if she did get booted down to the number 2 spot before the weigh-in was over with.

Who voted for who? Voted is represented with a v

Kim v Kimmy

Megan v Emily

Chris v Emily

Jeremy v Emily

Conda v Kimmy

Mark v Emily

Emily may have been sent home but she is aspiring to become an opera singer. She contacted former Biggest Loser winner Olivia who is an opera singer. Olivia invited her to visit. Emily has a wonderful voice and it looks like her dream may come true.

Emily has now lost a total of 90 pounds. Great job Emily! You can do anything that you put your mind to so you Go For It Girl!J
