Biggest Loser-Why Did They Not Like Mike?

February 7th, 2012

Many of you are asking why the Biggest Loser contestants didn’t like Mike.

Well, it seems that Mike had called Conda’s brother Tank. Now, just before being sent home, while still in the elimination room, Mike defended himself.

He said that he called him that out of affection like he would a brother.

Conda insisted he said it as an insult.

Now, knowing Conda better (like we do now) I wonder if the contestants might have a completely different perspective when it comes to who to side with and who to send home?

The very first week at the weigh-in Conda said and I quote “ My downfall on this team is Mike” then the person next to her said something I couldn’t make out and Conda clearly said “I don’t care. I can’t stand him”

This is the first week!?

Ok, so the second week when the red team was getting ready for the elimination Mike asked “Is there anyone here that you think hasn’t been doing a good job? That hasn’t pushed?”

I guess this was a case of don’t ask if you don’t want to know the answer because Mike noticed that Conda was grinning.

“Why you smiling Conda?”

Conda said “You know Mike, I think that it’s ironic that you ask that question. Last chance workout when the whole team is struggling, we’re all sweating, you’re not breaking a sweat”

“I don’t sweat like other people”

“Mike, you were going at a resistance of 3, slower than Nancy at a 6 on the ollipticals”

I pushed as hard as I possibly can”

 “Ok”

Mike, “And my foot was hurt”

“I’m not going to argue with you. I don’t want to argue”

Conda doesn’t want to argue? But she is so good at it! JLOL

Mike said “There is a part of me that feels attacked by my team and a bit blindsided. I would think that it would be Kim going home. She’s the one that made such a huge bet and then she didn’t back it up. I can’t imagine them voting me off”

Famous last words, huh?

Who voted for Mike?

Kim, Roy, Conda, Nancy, Kimmy

Kim said that Mike wasn’t working out very hard and that halfway through the workout that Mike asked when they were going to stop and get something to eat.

Mike said it was because the nutritionist said that they should stop, have a snack and then continue on with the workout and have the energy to finish the workout.

Conda said that if you were in a 3-4 hour workout you should have a snack but that since they had just had breakfast and no one else was asking to take a break

Mike argued back and finished up with you can judge me however you want. I did my best and I tried the hardest I possibly could. This is the hardest I have ever worked in my life. You don’t even need to lift these tins. I already know I am going home”

Alison said “So, if you think that she is wrong about the commitment level then let’s talk about what you think caused her vote”

Mike- “Maybe it’s my personality. Maybe I’m abrasive. I said something at the first weigh-in in a loving way to her brother”

Cut to a video clip from the first weigh-in and Mike says “Go Tank!” as he is clapping while Jeremy is getting on the scale.

Conda swears and says about wanting to kill him and then THAT is when she said about

Mike being her downfall on the red team.

Mike- “I mentioned it in a loving, playground kind of way”

Conda “but you don’t have a relationship like that.

Mike- “I’m speaking so let me finish”

Conda-“You’ve been disrespectful since you met us so that’s lie. I am not going to sit here and let him lie”

“I’m not lying”

“Just like you weren’t chewing tobacco before the weigh-in yesterday” (Ummm, what does THAT have to do with anything?)

“I never hid the fact that I chewed tobacco. I never once hid that. I haven’t lied about anything so don’t start trying to make me look like I’m a liar because I’m not.” Mike points to Conda “She doesn’t like me first of all”

“I have good reason” Conda said

“Well that’s ok. You know I don’t exactly think that you’re the sweetheart of America either”

“That’s fine”

“But that’s irrelevant” Mike ended and then it went to commercial.

Alison said “We’re going to move on”

Roy voted for Mike saying that he had a chance to put his best foot forward and he didn’t.

Mike countered with that it comes down to like and dislike.

Roy said he didn’t know about the stuff going on with Mike and Jeremy.

Now at this point I would like to say that from what we have seen we don’t KNOW that there is an issue between Mike and Jeremy. Maybe Jeremy took Mike’s comment in the way that he meant it and thought no more of it. Maybe Conda is the only one who took it wrong?

I mean, seeing how she has been acting it seems like she has a bit of an attitude problem so I think that it is possible that she got upset over it but Jeremy might not have.

I know that when I heard Mike say that the first week I never thought anything of it. I figured it was a guy thing and he was just cheering on his teammate.

Back to the elimination:

Mike said “I have issues. I know that. I’m trying to be honest now the best I can. It’s not really relevant because I already have 2 votes and there’s probably one more right here” meaning Conda.

Alison said “Conda you don’t have to be his friend but is that an important thing to hear someone say when they admit their culpability?”

Conda “Uh, it’s important but the thing is that once you make mistake after mistake after mistake it’s not a mistake. Respect is something that is not given to you it is something that you earn. Mike has disrespected not only me but my brother and honestly I don’t know what kind of relationship he has with his brother but to disrespect Jeremy is to disrespect me. So, I’m not going to stand for it. It did start from day 1. Mike never apologized for that”

Mike- “I did too”

The arguing continued and Alison put a stop to it by moving on.

Mike voted for Conda

Conda voted for Mike and had a huge smirk on her face

Nancy voted for Mike but said “I’m so sorry”

Mike said “That’s ok”

Kimmy- I voted for this person due to performance

Alison-“Mike that’s 5 votes”

Mike- “Everyone here I truly care about, including Conda. I’m not angry at anyone. You guys don’t have to be upset that you sent me home because I learned a lot about other people and that I don’t have to live this way. I don’t have to treat people the way that I have in the past. Because I have hurt a lot of people and I didn’t mean to hurt anybody’s feelings. Because I did, I apologize.”

“You know I haven’t spent a lot of time with my brother and once the team split up and he clicked up with her brother and all the kids on that team we had no relationship anymore. I saw him at night when we went to sleep and that was it. And then everyone had their own little cliques and their own way and I was pretty much by myself and it was difficult because I have abandonment issues”

Roy said “You know we love you guy”

Conda said that when Mike said about Joe not spending any time with him that it was the first time that she felt any emotion from him and I feel like now I understand it. Joe started hanging out with Jeremy and you might not have had anything against Jeremy but you didn’t like that because like you said you had abandonment issues. I’m sorry that I found that out today. If I had known earlier it might not have had to end this way”

Buddy asked Mike to quit the nicotine

Alison said that everyone at the table had one thing they wanted to hear him say.

Mike said hesitantly and quietly “Ok”

Alison said “Come on man!”

Then Mike said with more conviction- “I quit. Not only will I look like Alec Baldwin at the finale but I will be nicotine free”

Everyone hugged.

Mike weighed 358 pounds. He left at 338 pounds after 2 weeks.

At the update Mike said that he had lost 56 pounds since leaving the ranch. He now weighed 302 and feels amazing. That he realized on the ranch that anger was the reason that he gained the weight, that he had turned into an unhappy person.

Mike looks so much happier than he did at the ranch or when he left the Biggest Loser.

He uses boxing to take out his aggression but he is still having trouble kicking the nicotine addiction.

Ok, so Mike had some issues but he admitted to them and has worked on them. He now seems like a really nice guy. He seems so much happier. It’s amazing the difference.

BUT, we see that Conda has some issues by the way that she has continued to act. She hasn’t made much of an effort to change her attitude so I don’t think that the issue with Mike was all his fault.

What do you think?

I worked to bring you pretty much word for word the conversation between Mike and Conda at the weigh-in so that you can determine what you think

As far as Conda goes? We will see if she makes any improvements or if she finally goes home.

What do you hope for?

Need to lose weight?

February 7th, 2012

Yes, this blog is about the Biggest Loser tv show but it is also about losing weight and being healthy. So right now I am going to talk a bit about something that may be keeping some of you from losing weight and it may be affecting your health without you even knowing it.

For a while now I have been having some health issues, actually quite a while now. But before I get into all of that I know that some of you may be tempted to leave this page without reading further so I am going to list some symptoms and if you do not have any of these symptoms then fine go ahead and leave this page. But if you have ANY of these symptoms then PLEASE continue to read.

What are these the symptoms of you might wonder?

Hypothyroidism- underactive thyroid gland.

Why am I writing about this? Well, years ago I had symptoms of an underactive thyroid gland. I researched it and found Kelp to be of use in treating it naturally so I bought some and used it

I felt better and that was the end of that.

Or so I thought.

You see, I never thought any more of it. I wish I had.

Back before I had my son Josh I miscarried twins. It was quite traumatic. My husband and I had only told everyone we knew, about the baby, just days before I miscarried.

I was so upset over losing my baby. The doctor had me come in the next day to be tested to see if I would need to have a D ‘N’ C done or not.

I went in and lo and behold I was amazed to find out that there was still a baby. I had been carrying twins and didn’t even know it.

I was so happy and exhausted. I went home and took a nap. When I awoke it was to lose this baby too.

I was so depressed. My husband was of no help. If I even mentioned the babies he would say that he didn’t want to talk about it.

In my misery I saw things in a while new light. Years before a friend had miscarried her baby and I realized that I had not been there for her as I should have. I sat down and I poured my heart out to her and apologized profusely for not having been a better friend when she needed me to be.

She never got back with me.

I even contacted one of those hotlines and didn’t get any help.

Talk about being depressed.

Anyway, the reason that I mention this time of my life is because in doing some research recently about some health issues that I have been having I found out that over 30 million women and men have an underactive thyroid and that it can be the cause of miscarriage and birth of a premature baby.

If I had only known and had taken care of my thyroid sooner then maybe my babies would have survived. It’s possible.

You know, all the doctor’s that I saw while I was pregnant with Josh and not a one of them mentioned anything about checking my thyroid level.

I was bedridden for months at home, I was in the hospital for over 6 weeks and Josh was STILL 2 months premature.

I believe that my miscarriages and Josh being premature could very well have been caused by an under-active thyroid.

More recently I have been suffering from many items on this list and have been feeling quite poorly. I have been under a lot of stress with my uncle’s illness and subsequent death.

In doing research to determine the cause of my feeling poorly I was amazed to discover that I was suffering from an under-active thyroid gland and that not only was it behind my health issues now but most probably had been the reason behind the loss of my babies and why Josh was born premature.

I also found out that it is so common that, in doing a simple test at a local fair, researchers found that 50% of the people had a low thyroid and didn’t even know it.

I got to thinking about how some of the Biggest Loser contestants have wanted children. Some, like Sarah Nitta have had miscarriages before losing weight.

Could a low thyroid have anything to do with these people gaining the weight? Having trouble losing the weight? Could it be affecting any of you adversely?

I felt that it was important tp bring this information to you in order that if this is a problem for you that you can find out and take care of it.

You see, there is a very simple, cheap and easy test that you can do right now.

IODINE TINCTURE TEST:

All you need to do is to dab Iodine Tincture ( which costs only about $2 @ drug stores but do not get the decolorized) on body in 1-2 inch dot & then watch it.

If it has disappeared within 24 hours, you will need to reapply it.

Whenever you notice it is gone, reapply it

Repeat daily until the brown spot remains for 24 hours at which time you have successfully re-iodized yourself or your child.

Repeat at first of every month (or whenever you remember).

Now,  Williss Langford wrote a paper about  Hypothyroidism. He believed that there was a connection between it and Autism which makes me wonder if it could be connected to things like dementia and alzheimers. Now I don’t know this for certain but I know that I have been having trouble remembering lately and my thinking has been cloudy. Yet since starting to re-iodize myself I and much more clear headed and I feel better.

When I got my bottle of iodine I didn’t realize that it was decolorized. I put it on anyway and within hours I could feel a difference.

I managed to get a bottle of the brown iodine after using the clear for 2 days- since my symptoms were so bad I applied it 4-5 times a day.

When I applied the brown iodine on the 3rd day it disappeared within 5 hours. This was after having already applied it for 2 days so this tells me that my thyroid must have been extremely low.

Now, I am not a doctor but I will say that since starting the iodine therapy (simply applying it to my skin several times a day) I am sleeping much better, my thinking is clearer, my memory is better again, my skin is not nearly as dry, the nerve rash is fading and when I got up this morning I didn’t have all the aches and pains that I have been having lately.

And I figure that something this cheap, easy and non threatening is worth a try for anyone dealing with these issues. You do NOT drink the iodine. You simply put a circle of it on your skin. If your body absorbs it quickly (in less than 24 hours) then your thyroid needed the iodine. It’s as simple as that.

I think that all of the stress I have gone through over the years has taken it’s toll and my Uncle’s illness and death were simply the straw that broke the camels back so to speak.

Now I am hoping that by bring you this information that it will help those of you that need it. It is easily checked, cheap and easily fixed. One bottle of brown iodine can tell you if a low thyroid is a problem for you and it can re-iodize your thyroid.

Now some of these symptoms can also be from toxic overload and I plan to write more about that and what you can do about it very soon here. So please keep checking back.

I’ll be blogging about tonight’s Biggest Loser show and am hoping that this is the week that Conda gets sent home. I am so tired of her drama and placing the blame on everyone else. She reminds me of a certain family member that I have been having to deal with-UGH! Bad enough to deal with this in real life but to then see Conda doing the same crap is just too much.

See you all soon with a post about tonight’s Biggest Loser J I Cannot Wait!!!

Fat Is TOXIC?

February 4th, 2012

Here is something interesting that I just found out: Did you know that there are 10 to 100 times more toxins in your fat than in your blood? I found this out from a doctor. I knew that fat surrounds toxins to protect your body from them but I didn’t realize just how much toxins can be found in the fat in your body. Amazing and kind of scary when you think about it. So, it is a good idea to decrease your body fat and get rid of these excess toxins. Here is a partial list of diseases we are seeing on the rise due to all of the accumulated toxins- diseases like cancer, brain disorders like autism, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, auto-immune dysfunction, nerve disorders and more common ailments like depression, learning disabilities and fatigue. All this adds up to it being a good idea to get rid of as much excess fat as you can and that it might be a good idea to cleanse to remove these excess toxins. I was reading that using an infra-red sauna every day for a month is a great way to get rid of toxins and that taking Chlorella is another good tool for removing toxins. I am thinking of writing an article with more info about this if it interests you. Please let me know. Thanks

Biggest Loser-Jillian Michaels Returning?

February 4th, 2012

Many of you Biggest Loser fans may be wondering- With Jillian Michaels leaving “The Doctors,” will she return to “The Biggest Loser” for a third run?

Well, don’t rule it out. It could happen.

“We never say never,” Jillian Michaels’ representative, Ashley Sandberg, told TheWrap on Wednesday.

In other words she might but she might not. There IS hope that she will though. If Jillian and her people aren’t ruling it out I think that they would have an interested listening audience if they are in talks with the Biggest Loser people. The ratings for the Biggest Loser for January 2012 were down 30% from January of 2011- the last season for Jillian Michaels to be on the Biggest Loser.

Now, as some people have said- those that don’t watch the Biggest Loser tv show anymore were Jillian Michaels fans NOT Biggest Loser fans. Those of us that love the show continue to watch it for the wonder that it is.

It is real people changing their body while they change their life. It makes us laugh, cry and shout at our tv. It gives people that are overweight the hope that ‘if these people can do it so can I’.

We are true Biggest Loser fans, and while some of us may like it better if Jillian came back and others may have fallen for Dolvetts smile and we all want Bob to stay on the Biggest Loser forever J we all love the Biggest Loser. And us true fans will be in front of our tv set watching it each week no matter the twists and turns it takes with the contestants OR with the trainers.

BTW, Jillian’s birthday is coming up pretty soon here. Her birthday is February 18, 1974

Biggest Loser season 13 week 5

February 3rd, 2012

I forgot that the contestants were not there when Allison told the aqua team about their opportunity to come back to the Biggest Loser Ranch.

From what we have been seeing of them it looks like this brother and sister team really wants to be back on the ranch.

Daphne 37 years old-starting weight 271-26=245

Adrian  34 years old  370-34=336

They lost a total of 60 pounds on their own at home!

I think that for basically doing this on their own without even getting to step within the walls of the Biggest Loser Ranch that they did a really good job J

Now I hear Conda and Kim making comments, and yes some others did too but for the most part it was them.

Kim was upset because the aqua team was celebrating their return to the ranch. I am sure that if her team had been in their place that they would have been celebrating getting to actually be on the Biggest Loser Ranch just the same. After being there for 5 weeks I think she has forgotten just how excited they all were to be there that first day. So she begrudges the aqua team their moments of celebration?

That’s a bit sad really. They had their time to cheer and be happy about being there.

I know that The Biggest Loser is a tv show and as such they like to portray certain things (like drama) to up their ratings. And I know that they pick and choose what we see so some of it may seem awful but we have to remember that there are parts that we don’t see.

BUT, I have to say that the things being said and done WERE said and done or they wouldn’t be on film to show us. As such I must say that from what I have seen of Conda and Kim that I don’t think they are anyone that I would want to be friends with. I have enough drama in my life just struggling to get through. I certainly don’t need anyone that likes the drama and conflict the way that those two seem to.

I may be wrong. If you personally know them and they aren’t like that then by all means PLEASE comment and let us know. But, I must say that I put out there that same request when we had to endure the whole Vickie season and No One Took Me Up On It. I know that she posted over and over about not being like that but yet again when Vickie was on the Biggest Loser it was the same deal- they can’t film it if you don’t say it or do it.

Of the 3 challenges and 4 weigh-ins the black and the red teams are pretty much running neck and neck.

Red team has won 2 challenges and 2 weigh-ins. So that puts them ahead in the challenges by 1 win and a tie on the weigh-ins.

I will say that even though I like Dolvett I love Bob and feel a certain loyalty to him. I also like the way that the black team has treated Daphne much better than how the red team has treated Adrian. It’s not all of the red team but a bad apple or two can certainly spoil the bushel.

So, for me I am rooting for the black team. BUT, there are certain red team members that I like and so I am conflicted.

I certainly like Buddy as he is from Michigan- Like us! J

Now Kim said about that she doesn’t know of Olympic athletes that work out 14 hours a day at the intensity that they do and only lose 34 pounds in a month.

One month is approximately 30 days (give or take). To lose 34 pounds is losing more than 1 pound a day. Now she is not taking into consideration the fact that Adrain and

Daphne never got onto the Biggest Loser Ranch. They have very little idea how the other contestants have been training. SURE, Bob and Dolvett each took a day to go work with them but that is 2 days out of 30 and how much of that actually soaked in when you think about how surprised they were and how excited. Looking back after the trainers had left how much of it did they remember?

I think that they did a really good job and would like to say that I am proud of them

Ok, I understand that Adrian is the new guy but his sister is the new girl on the black team and I don’t see the black team treating her the way that Adrian is being treated.

Maybe the red team doesn’t believe him when he said that he was working out 14 hours a day. Maybe he was just exaggerating, hoping that the team would see how much he wants to be there or maybe he is just trying too hard to fit in.

But to me there seem to be a couple people that are just trying to push him right out the door.

Who else can see how Conda and Kim are being? I feel that Conda is being the worst of the two. She certainly has some issues.

Think about how she was with calling Cassandra a cheater, rolling her eyes at Dolvett and how she has been treating Adrian.

I think that Nancy, Buddy and Mark had a pretty good attitude about the aqua team being back.

I understand that Chris is upset about Chism and Jeremy writing her name down to go home. BUT, she needs to realize that they felt that she wanted to go home.

I find it interesting that the women all voted for Gail and that the guys voted for Chris.

Maybe Chris was more open with the women and they know she REALLY wants to stay.

Maybe it all comes down to how men and women process things differently?

Hmmm…. Interesting. What do YOU think?

WOW! Chris did an awesome job on Fran with 4minutes and    seconds

Cassandra 7 minutes 46 seconds

Chism 7 minutes and 6 seconds

Emily 5 minutes and 29 seconds

Daphne 5 minutes and 14 seconds

You know, for all the doubting that the red team was doing about how well Adrian would do I think he did an amazing job on the monkey bars. He did better than most of the other red team members and he most certainly did better than I would JLOL

Buddy said that he was impressed with how well Adrian performed on the monkey bars but Conda, the drama and conflict queen, said that she is not impressed “This was one of the easier workouts that we’ve had”

I certainly feel for Adrian and his wife for losing their baby like they did. Losing a child is one of the hardest things a parent could ever go through.

I am also sure that watching this section of Biggest Loser was probably not easy for former contestant Denise Hill as she worries about her new baby grandson who was born January 17th at 1:36 (Exactly a half an hour before my Uncle died) he  weighed 1 lb 5oz. He was due May 11, he was 4 months early.

I would think that hearing about the loss that Adrian and his wife had would certainly bring up some worries as Denise and her family pray that their little one will be ok.

So far he has been doing really well and she says that he is a fighter. We are praying for him to do well, be healthy and to be able to go home soon. Please send prayers to her family at this time.

Josh was born 2 months premature and he did really well. I am sure that they have made great advances since then.

Now Conda is stirring the trouble pot again. She is saying how Adrian called her on being disrespectful and said that because he is a gentleman that he hasn’t called her on it yet.

How true! How true!

Adrian has caused tension between Conda and the rest of the team?

NO- CONDA is the one that has caused tension for everyone on the Biggest Loser this season

And Kim is calling Adrian an idiot? Is it any wonder that there is tension this week? And I am sure that all of that tension is going to show up on the scales come weigh-in time.

Now, how many of you think that Chris’s whole speech was trying to get the guys to not put her name down again?

I think that Chism had a good point about how ‘if she really wanted to get to know us she would have done it before she knew we wrote her name down on the paper’

Then again, you can see Chris’s point too. She had a weak moment and she sees now how it could come back and bite her in the butt if she doesn’t do some damage control.

Everything kind of came to a head at the dinner table. I am glad that Nancy and Mark spoke up about the petty crap going on. Although I am not sure how much was directed at Conda and Kim and how much at Adrain.

I also saw how everyone left Adrian alone at the table except for Buddy. Now I don’t know how much of that was support for Adrian and how much was because he may have not been done eating-or shock that everyone all of a sudden walked awayJ I am glad that someone stayed sitting there though so that Adrian wasn’t left all alone.

It would be so hard to go home thinking that these people were saddened to see them go home and looking forward to being part of the group and then have your dream come true to only have it turn into a nightmare.

Cudos to Adrian for getting Dolvett to realize that there was a problem without talking behind everyone’s back (unlike a couple other contestants I could mention)

Dolvett does have a point about Adrian not forcing himself to be part of the group that it will take time.

Now for the weigh-in results:

Black Team

Daphne 245-1-244

Megan 238-9=229

Chism  320-2=318

Emily 235-5=230

Chris 215-4=211

Cassandra 206-6=200

Jeremy 347-9=338

Total 27 pounds  1.72%

Red Team

Nancy 200-4=196

Adrian 336-2=334

Kim 220-5=215

Roy 272-4=268

Mark 255-4-251

Buddy 353-8=345

Conda 265-2=263

Red team lost the weigh-in

I am surprised that the red team sent Nancy home. I was really hoping that they would send Conda home. I can see why Adrian said that he was surprised that Nancy was being sent home. All he did was make a statement of fact and boy did the gruesome twosome jump on him.

It would seem to me that if you have someone that causes friction that she would be the one that you would send home when you got a chance. But then again when they had a chance to send so named by many Biggest Loser viewers ‘icky Vickie’ home they didn’t do it.

Is this because ‘they can’t see the forest for the trees’ like Josh says? Or is it that there are things going on that we don’t see that determine the contestants voting so differently than what we think that they should?

Well, time to stop for tonight. I have something else that I am hoping to post tonight if I have time and time is short as the library will be closing soon.

Hope you enjoyed my thoughts, and rants Jlol, on this weeks Biggest Loser

Take care. I’ll be back next week.

Biggest Loser season 13 week 4

January 31st, 2012

Ok, so we only had 1 hour of Biggest Loser this week. Actually after commercials it was only 43 minutes and 26 seconds. I feel so Biggest Loser Deprived –UGH! BUT, at least we had that much. I do so enjoy the 2 hour episodes much better than 1 hour.

The challenge will determine who gets to use the gym for the week and who doesn’t. Ok, using the gym is good but over the years of watching Biggest Loser I know that they have had teams that didn’t have the use of the gym and they still did good.

If I had to choose between winning the challenge, for this prize, and winning the weigh-in I would choose the weigh-in without hesitation.

Ok, do you know the right answers for the challenge questions?

How smart are you?

Challenge questions:

1.    Which common vegetable is a very good source of vitamin C?

A. Cauliflower    B. Carrots

2.    If you are using a tablespoon of oil to cook, which of these oils is the worst choice for you?

A. Peanut   B. Vegetable

3.    What food builds the most muscle?

A. Chicken B. Fish

4.    Which contains the most antioxidants? A. Pinto Beans B. Blackberries

5.    Which of these foods contain the most protein? A. 4 hard boiled eggs B. 1 cup of 1% lowfat cottage cheese

I cannot believe that black team didn’t get ANY of the questions right. They have been there at the Biggest Loser Ranch for 4 weeks now.

I admit that some of the questions weren’t the easiest to know right off the top of your head. But, red team did so well.

Ok, so red team won the challenge. That doesn’t mean that they will definitely win the weigh-in

And then, Nancy asking Dolvett if he’s ever given birth? OMG how funny! JLOL

Conda has had such an attitude this week. I can’t believe she thought that she could roll her eyes, get attitude with Dolvett (or any of the trainers they have ever had on Biggest Loser and get away with it. You know Bob or Jillian wouldn’t have put up with it either.

So Buddy has been home all week. Hi wife had the baby. He and his wife named their new baby Levi Mark.

Boy, with Biggest Loser only being 1 hour this week it sure did go fast

Emily 244  -9=235

Chism 332-12=

Caasandra 212-6

Jeremy 358-11

Gayle 302-5

Chris 222-7=215

Megan 240-2=238

Black team lost 52   pounds  2.72 %

Buddy 363-10=353

Roy 278-6=272

Kimmy 203- 6=197

Mark  266-11=255

Kim 230-10=220

Nancy  205-5=200

Conda 275-10=265

Red team lost  58 pounds 3.19 %

I don’t think that we have ever had a season where there have been so many that seem to want to go home. They have only been there for 4 weeks.

One left voluntarily the first week.

Joe quit and went home.

Chris wanted to go home but luckily she changed her mind. But because of her wanting to go home that one day she almost did. The vote was 3 for her and 3 for Gayle until Emily cast the deciding vote.

And the thing is, I really think that Gayle wanted to go home. She looked miserable all week and if you watched the video’s that I posted here you would have seen how upset she was when she found out that it was her daughter that was sent home last week.

Then, when Bob told her to speed up she actually moved even slower. To me it just seemed like her will to be there went home with her daughter.

And when they had Gayle’s update, it looked like she did much better at home. Which is good, I am happy for her.

The thing is that with all of these people wanting to go home you think about the people that need to be there and really WANT to be there on The Biggest Loser Ranch. The ones that gave up and went home took spots away from those people. That really upsets me when I think about it.

I mean, how disappointing to miss out on being one of the contestants on the Biggest Loser just to see these people give up their spot and go home

When you think about how many people are so unhealthy in the US and how many people would just about sell their soul to be on The Biggest Loser it is disgusting to have so many just give up.

Answers to the challenge questions:

1.    Cauliflower

2.    Vegetable

3.    Fish

4.    Pinto Beans

5.    Eggs with cottage cheese coming in just under eggs as far as protein

Lauren’s Elimination

January 28th, 2012

Sorry that I didn’t get my post done. With my Uncle’s funeral and trying to catch up on everything that was put on hold I just didn’t get it done. Especially since I took time to get the petition going that I had talked about. I did this because I feel that it is very important for everyone’s health. What kid doesn’t love chicken nuggets or hot dogs?

Luckily Biggest Loser was only an hour- can’t believe that I said that! :-)lol So, I should be able to have a post ready to copy and paste at the begining of the week. See you then. Have a nice weekend.

Oh, and please sign oour petition and help to pass the word about it. Thanks!

I created a petition, please sign it

January 27th, 2012

Hi All,

I told you recently about the pink paste that is used to create meat products that you may have been feeding your family. It includes eyes, guts, etc. Disgusting stuff!

I have created a petition to try to change the way that our meats are processed so that they will be healthier.

Please sign it and then tell everyone you know and have them sign too! Thanks! :-)

Biggest Loser Season 13 week 3

January 20th, 2012

Ok, so Joe wanted to go home. I understand that they miss their families. At least Jeremy has his head on straight and tried to talk him out of it

Did you know that there are 41,000 chinese restaraunts in the Us? That’s more than McDonald’s, Wendys and Burger King combined? WOW! I had no clue.

Ok, so here we go with a temptation.

Everything looked so good. I can’t imagine being in the room seeing and smelling that food.

Do you feel that an obese person is like an alcoholic? Do you think that they can never eat high calorie foods again or will fall right back into that whole way of eating? Do you think that they only need worry while losing the weight and then should be able to cheat on occasion without too much concern? Or do you think it was ok to eat to win the temptation?

I was surprised that no one on the red team seemed to be tempted

Good thinking on the black team’s part. A 30 calorie fortune cookie wouldn’t do a lot of damage and yet would have a chance of giving them control over the face-off and the 2 pound advantage

Cassandra seemed really happy about winning and she sure didn’t waste any time in picking out who would face off against whom.

Black (weight loss- %) lbs lost vs   Red =who won & their weight loss

Emily   (  14lbs-5.30 %)              and   Roy (19 lbs-6.21%)

Jeremy  (    lbs-5.14 %)               and   Lauren (    lbs-5.28 %)

Joe          (    lbs- 6.44 %)            and   Nancy (    lbs-4.61 %)= Nancy with just 2 lbs

Chism     (    lbs-5.54  %)            and  Kim ( 16   lbs-6.35 %)

Mark    ( 17 lbs-5.84 %)              and  Chris    (    lbs- 5.83 %)

Megan  (    lbs-4.25 %)                and  Buddy    ( 31 lbs-7.69 %)

Gayle    (    lbs-4.35 %)                and  Kimmy     (    lbs- 5.94 %)

Cassandra      (    lbs-    %)

What do you think of Joe leaving like that? He did leave his team in the lurch and make it that much harder for his team to win the weigh-in.

Yes, he misses his family but is his going home now going to cost them extra years that they might have had?

And when you think about how much the aqua team wants to be there and we have had 2 people leave voluntarily already in week 3?

That’s crazy!

How funny: Bob saying “I knew I’d get that old woman to cuss”

Well, that’s all I have time for today. I wasn’t sure that I would even post what with my Uncle dying but I decided to at least post some. I will try to finish it on Saturday so that we will be all caught up for next week’s Biggest Loser-K?

In the meantime here is something gross.

Take a look:

Click the pic for more info but basically this is processed chicken which is the entire chicken- including the eyeballs which is used in nuggets and processed chicken patties, etc. I am so sick to my stomach over this- EEEEWWWW! YUCK!

Now, from my research it DOES say that they have been doing this sinch the late 1960’s which means that we have probably all ate it and didn’t even know it.

It can be found in things like chicken nuggest, processed chicken patties, hot dogs, bologna, salami, etc.

I also know that we probably all know in that eating these things isn’t healthy anyway but when you are on a low income sometimes they are about the only meat you can afford to eat.

My son and I had just eaten hot dogs days before I read this article and saw this pic. Last night we had hot dogs again- because they are cheap. BUT, I couldn’t eat the same brand I ate the last time we had hot dogs- even though they were on sale for $1 for a package. We ended up getting some that were a manager’s discount for $2 because they were beef. Beef is not processed in this way in the US due to mad cow disease.

I do not know how each individual country processes their meat so if this interests you (or disgusts you) you may want to look into that. I know that we have visitors from all over the world (thank you so much for that :-) we REALLY appreciate it!) and I would LOVE to be able to tell you all how the meat is processed in YOUR country. BUT, with my Uncle dying and time constraints I just cannot do so at this time.

I AM however trying to find time (hopefully this week yet) to see about getting a petition going to change this process. I do not see why they cannot remove the heads and the internals before processing the meat this way so that we are not getting the disgusting parts in there that some of us (Me included) cannot stomach the idea of eating- even if we already HAVE and just didn’t know it.

I know it may sound silly to some of you that I cannot eat the exact same thing that I ate just a week or two ago but the idea that there are ground up eyeballs and guts (including the bowel) in that meat is just something I can’t stomach.

I am hoping that many of you would be willing to sign a petition to get this policy changed.

I think that having people to clean the chickens before processing would save not having to use unneccessary chemicals that could be causing health issues for many of us and must be costing them money. Use that money to pay people to clean the chickens= healthier meat and more jobs.

They can always use the parts removed for animal feed like they have done for years. The animals won’t know the difference and they eat these parts when they hunt anyway. Also, the price of cat and dog food has risen dramatically in recent years. I wonder how much of this is because of people insisting that the anials get ‘choice’ cuts of meat. My belief is that this has caused the price of not only dog and cat food to rise but our food as well. Only so many animals can be grown in a given year and yet it needs to feed us all. And why shoud WE as humans be forced to eat these parts, if we don’t want to, simply because we cannot afford anything better?

I know that some of you will disagree with me. That’s ok. You can still come here and enjoy My Biggest Loser Blog. As you can see from past posts I very rarely rant about anything other than the Biggest Loser on here. So if you don’t agree about my views on the meat processin you can skip over it and get to what you really want to read. I most likely will only post if and when I get the petition done and a possible update here and there.

As for Biggest Loser? I cannot wait for tonight’s show. It comes on in just over an hour so I am heading home so I will not miss even a teensy weensy second of it like we did a couple of weeks ago due to there being a bad storm. We missed 20 minutes of it-UGH!!! The HORROR!

I am finally recovering though due to the fact that I was finally able to see what we had missed -ahhhhh! The relief! :-))

Enjoy Biggest Loser tonight and I will be talking with you soon.

Hug your loved ones as you never know just how much time you have left with them :-)

Biggest Loser 1 Hour Show?

January 17th, 2012

Hey all,
There is a rumor that the Biggest Loser is going to be only a 1 hour show starting next week.
Even one of the Biggest Loser contestants is saying that Biggest Loser will only be a 1 hour show all Spring.
I have looked into this and found out that it WILL be 1 hour next Tuesday for the State Of The Union Address.
AND:
The Biggest Loser will only be one hour episodes at 8pm on April 26 and May 3 to make room for the 9pm-11pm launch of tv show The Voice those nights.

From May 10 to May 24, The Biggest Loser returns to two hour episodes, but will be at 9pm, coming on right after The Voice which will be on from 8-9 pm.
The Futon Critic notes that with the night being full beginning April 26, The tv show Parenthood will either finish its second season during April or shift to another night for the rest of the season.

Now, I want to apologise as I had intended to post more about last week’s Biggest Loser season 13 show 2 but my Uncle just died this afternoon and I will not be able to post more today after all. I will try to get something posted this week about tonights show but I make no guarantee about when that will be as I am not sure about the showing and the funeral and how up to posting I will be.
Then again I may post in order to help get my mind off of our loss.
Please pray for our family during this difficult time.
Thank you
