I created a petition, please sign it

January 27th, 2012

Hi All,

I told you recently about the pink paste that is used to create meat products that you may have been feeding your family. It includes eyes, guts, etc. Disgusting stuff!

I have created a petition to try to change the way that our meats are processed so that they will be healthier.

Please sign it and then tell everyone you know and have them sign too! Thanks! :-)

Biggest Loser Season 13 week 3

January 20th, 2012

Ok, so Joe wanted to go home. I understand that they miss their families. At least Jeremy has his head on straight and tried to talk him out of it

Did you know that there are 41,000 chinese restaraunts in the Us? That’s more than McDonald’s, Wendys and Burger King combined? WOW! I had no clue.

Ok, so here we go with a temptation.

Everything looked so good. I can’t imagine being in the room seeing and smelling that food.

Do you feel that an obese person is like an alcoholic? Do you think that they can never eat high calorie foods again or will fall right back into that whole way of eating? Do you think that they only need worry while losing the weight and then should be able to cheat on occasion without too much concern? Or do you think it was ok to eat to win the temptation?

I was surprised that no one on the red team seemed to be tempted

Good thinking on the black team’s part. A 30 calorie fortune cookie wouldn’t do a lot of damage and yet would have a chance of giving them control over the face-off and the 2 pound advantage

Cassandra seemed really happy about winning and she sure didn’t waste any time in picking out who would face off against whom.

Black (weight loss- %) lbs lost vs   Red =who won & their weight loss

Emily   (  14lbs-5.30 %)              and   Roy (19 lbs-6.21%)

Jeremy  (    lbs-5.14 %)               and   Lauren (    lbs-5.28 %)

Joe          (    lbs- 6.44 %)            and   Nancy (    lbs-4.61 %)= Nancy with just 2 lbs

Chism     (    lbs-5.54  %)            and  Kim ( 16   lbs-6.35 %)

Mark    ( 17 lbs-5.84 %)              and  Chris    (    lbs- 5.83 %)

Megan  (    lbs-4.25 %)                and  Buddy    ( 31 lbs-7.69 %)

Gayle    (    lbs-4.35 %)                and  Kimmy     (    lbs- 5.94 %)

Cassandra      (    lbs-    %)

What do you think of Joe leaving like that? He did leave his team in the lurch and make it that much harder for his team to win the weigh-in.

Yes, he misses his family but is his going home now going to cost them extra years that they might have had?

And when you think about how much the aqua team wants to be there and we have had 2 people leave voluntarily already in week 3?

That’s crazy!

How funny: Bob saying “I knew I’d get that old woman to cuss”

Well, that’s all I have time for today. I wasn’t sure that I would even post what with my Uncle dying but I decided to at least post some. I will try to finish it on Saturday so that we will be all caught up for next week’s Biggest Loser-K?

In the meantime here is something gross.

Take a look:

Click the pic for more info but basically this is processed chicken which is the entire chicken- including the eyeballs which is used in nuggets and processed chicken patties, etc. I am so sick to my stomach over this- EEEEWWWW! YUCK!

Now, from my research it DOES say that they have been doing this sinch the late 1960’s which means that we have probably all ate it and didn’t even know it.

It can be found in things like chicken nuggest, processed chicken patties, hot dogs, bologna, salami, etc.

I also know that we probably all know in that eating these things isn’t healthy anyway but when you are on a low income sometimes they are about the only meat you can afford to eat.

My son and I had just eaten hot dogs days before I read this article and saw this pic. Last night we had hot dogs again- because they are cheap. BUT, I couldn’t eat the same brand I ate the last time we had hot dogs- even though they were on sale for $1 for a package. We ended up getting some that were a manager’s discount for $2 because they were beef. Beef is not processed in this way in the US due to mad cow disease.

I do not know how each individual country processes their meat so if this interests you (or disgusts you) you may want to look into that. I know that we have visitors from all over the world (thank you so much for that :-) we REALLY appreciate it!) and I would LOVE to be able to tell you all how the meat is processed in YOUR country. BUT, with my Uncle dying and time constraints I just cannot do so at this time.

I AM however trying to find time (hopefully this week yet) to see about getting a petition going to change this process. I do not see why they cannot remove the heads and the internals before processing the meat this way so that we are not getting the disgusting parts in there that some of us (Me included) cannot stomach the idea of eating- even if we already HAVE and just didn’t know it.

I know it may sound silly to some of you that I cannot eat the exact same thing that I ate just a week or two ago but the idea that there are ground up eyeballs and guts (including the bowel) in that meat is just something I can’t stomach.

I am hoping that many of you would be willing to sign a petition to get this policy changed.

I think that having people to clean the chickens before processing would save not having to use unneccessary chemicals that could be causing health issues for many of us and must be costing them money. Use that money to pay people to clean the chickens= healthier meat and more jobs.

They can always use the parts removed for animal feed like they have done for years. The animals won’t know the difference and they eat these parts when they hunt anyway. Also, the price of cat and dog food has risen dramatically in recent years. I wonder how much of this is because of people insisting that the anials get ‘choice’ cuts of meat. My belief is that this has caused the price of not only dog and cat food to rise but our food as well. Only so many animals can be grown in a given year and yet it needs to feed us all. And why shoud WE as humans be forced to eat these parts, if we don’t want to, simply because we cannot afford anything better?

I know that some of you will disagree with me. That’s ok. You can still come here and enjoy My Biggest Loser Blog. As you can see from past posts I very rarely rant about anything other than the Biggest Loser on here. So if you don’t agree about my views on the meat processin you can skip over it and get to what you really want to read. I most likely will only post if and when I get the petition done and a possible update here and there.

As for Biggest Loser? I cannot wait for tonight’s show. It comes on in just over an hour so I am heading home so I will not miss even a teensy weensy second of it like we did a couple of weeks ago due to there being a bad storm. We missed 20 minutes of it-UGH!!! The HORROR!

I am finally recovering though due to the fact that I was finally able to see what we had missed -ahhhhh! The relief! :-))

Enjoy Biggest Loser tonight and I will be talking with you soon.

Hug your loved ones as you never know just how much time you have left with them :-)

Biggest Loser 1 Hour Show?

January 17th, 2012

Hey all,
There is a rumor that the Biggest Loser is going to be only a 1 hour show starting next week.
Even one of the Biggest Loser contestants is saying that Biggest Loser will only be a 1 hour show all Spring.
I have looked into this and found out that it WILL be 1 hour next Tuesday for the State Of The Union Address.
AND:
The Biggest Loser will only be one hour episodes at 8pm on April 26 and May 3 to make room for the 9pm-11pm launch of tv show The Voice those nights.

From May 10 to May 24, The Biggest Loser returns to two hour episodes, but will be at 9pm, coming on right after The Voice which will be on from 8-9 pm.
The Futon Critic notes that with the night being full beginning April 26, The tv show Parenthood will either finish its second season during April or shift to another night for the rest of the season.

Now, I want to apologise as I had intended to post more about last week’s Biggest Loser season 13 show 2 but my Uncle just died this afternoon and I will not be able to post more today after all. I will try to get something posted this week about tonights show but I make no guarantee about when that will be as I am not sure about the showing and the funeral and how up to posting I will be.
Then again I may post in order to help get my mind off of our loss.
Please pray for our family during this difficult time.
Thank you

Biggest Loser Season 13- video’s

January 14th, 2012

Hi All, I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to go back over Tuesday’s Biggest Loser week 2 to get the names of all the red team, get their weigh loss numbers and anything else that I wanted to add but didn’t have time to yet. Will try to do so yet this weekend and then post Mon or Tues when I am able to get online.

In the meantime I am including some video’s from this season (13) and the preview for this coming Tuesday’s Biggest Loser.

Jennyisblessed seems to think that this season is disappointing and that the last 10 minutes of this show was torture.
What do you think?
Personally I am happy with this season so far. For the most part I am happy with the contestants. Sure the time in the elimination was difficult but then it always is.

Jennyisblessed wants more ‘positive’. I like to look at it that the glass is half full. Yes, the elimination was difficult and a bit upsetting but by the time it was done Mike had come clean about why he was the way that he was, everyone now understood and it was a very good ending for Tuesday night’s Biggest Loser as everyone hugged and was now getting along and you see the difference that being on the Biggest Loser Ranch did for Mike. When they had his update he was a much friendlier person and had already lost 50 pounds. 50 POUNDS! That is wonderful!

How much more positive can you get?

Have a great weekend! :-)

Biggest Loser Season 8

August 20th, 2009

Well, it is almost here- Biggest Loser season 8 will be starting on September 15th, 2009. For those of us die hard Biggest Loser fans it has been a long time coming :0) For someone who is addicted to the Biggest Loser tv show it has been very hard getting through.

I had planned on re-watching some of the shows from previous seasons during the summer and posting about them but I guess that God, and life, had other plans as we have not had time to watch any of the shows that we have taped. It’s not even completely about being busy, though we really have been, but we have also had a lot of emotional issues to deal with due to the loss of several family members and friends of our family

Anyway on to talking about the new season…

This time around the Biggest Loser will be doing something different. They will not be having couples, as they have so often lately, but will be back to singles. They will be continuing to show

The Biggest Loser will be in 2 hour episodes the same as they have been for the past 3 seasons.

This time around the Biggest Loser researched and studied to see which are America’s fattest cities and the tried to cast in these cities. They also added something in these cities to try to help them to change their ways so that they can lose weight, get healthy and get off the list of America’s fattest cities.

I think that it is great that Biggest Loser is helping so many people to lose weight not only on the ranch but by trying to help get America’s fattest cities off the list.

Biggest Loser is currently casting for season 9 in which they will be going back to the family format. Season 9 will premiere January of 2010

Stay tuned because I will be posting info on the cast for season 8, who they are and a little bit about them

admin: Thank you for letting me know how you feel. Much of this was from when I first started My Biggest Loser Blog and I may have went a bit heavy with the advertising at that time. I have not had a chance to do much with this for a while but I am trying to do better now. I am working on posting more often and will try to clean up, or remove, some of the ads when I get the time.

Biggest Loser Season 13 week 2

January 12th, 2012

Right off the bat Alison asks for volunteers and then she pulls 2 volunteers from each team and takes them into another room. In this room are stacks of poker chips.

Well, it turns out that each team is to bet on how much weight that they believe that their team will lose this week.

Red team bets that their team will lose more than 94 pounds this week which is 3.8%

They lost 3% last week

OMG! Have these women even watched Biggest Loser before? Do they have any idea what week 2 is like?

The average loss for week 2 is only 2%

I cannot believe that red team’s went and bet for their team to lose 94 pounds in week 2 which is the toughest week in Biggest Loser history.

That is 10 ½ pounds per person in week 2. And nearly double the average loss for week 2.

Then during the flag challenge Gayle goes over to work on solving the puzzle and we are told that just before this she said that she is dyslexic and  bad at puzzles. Uh, if she knows this and told others that this is true about her then wouldn’t it have been better if someone else worked on solving it?

Dolvett was not happy when he found out how much weight their team needs to lose to win this week.

He spray painted 94 lbs on the wall to keep that goal in front of them. Uh, didn’t his momma teach him not to spray paint on the walls?

Bob seems very unhappy with Dolvett but how much of that is true and how much is for ratings? I gotta wonder?

BTW, I forgot to mention that Jillian is no longer on The Doctors. I am wondering if this might mean a return to The biggest Loser???

I would love to see this happen and yet I do like Dolvett. Yet, the team of Bob and Jillian is just pure magic. They are friends and yet they like to compete with each other. Nothing mean, just clean fun.

Ok, everyone seems to be working out except one.

What is up with Mike? It seems like all he’s been doing is taking breaks?

I believe that he was the one that was telling that he gained 50 pounds the summer he was 12. Which is when he met his half brother(?) for the first time? And what father lets their 12 year old gain 50 pounds over a summer and smoke like a smokestack?

Just when I was so glad to see Mike go home he finally admits that he has abandonment issues and seems to actually be a nice guy. So then I was see sawing about him going home. Course we hate to really see anyone have to go home ….well, for the most part. I mean there ARE some people that you can’t wait to see go home and when they do you do a HAPPY DANCE!!!!! WHOOHOO!

Ok, here are the weight loss amounts I have so far. I will need to watch what I taped and get the rest of the names and numbers and post them soon.

Black team:

Gayle -5 pounds

Megan - 4 pounds

Cassandra - 5 pounds

Emily- 4 pounds

Chris - 6 pounds

Joe- 8 pounds

Jeremy -7 pounds

Chism- 8 pounds

Red team:

Ok, so far there are quite a few Biggest Loser contestants that we like but the one that stands out the most to me right now (as I am running out of time to finish this. It has started to storm out and we need to get home) is Chism. I think that he seems like a really nice kid and he certainly needs to lose the weight.

WHOOOHOO! Chism sure pulled out the win for his team didn’t he? 8 pounds in week 2? WOW!

And, Josh had thought how ironic it would be if the 5 pound advantage was what put the black team ahead. Guess what? It was! The red team must REALLY be kicking themselves and I gotta wonder if the 2 women that bet the 94 pounds will be going home soon. I mean come on, the rest of the team was really unhappy with them. When push comes to shove I really think that this could come back to haunt them.

What do you think?

That’s it for now. Will try to post more soon.

See, I AM trying to do better about posting. It would be so much easier with home internet service but property taxes being paid are much more important.

Take care

~Michelle & Josh

Biggest Loser Season 13- New Year, New Resolution

January 6th, 2012

Hi All,
I am so sorry that it has been so long since I have posted. I used to be so good, so faithful about it. Then we lost our home internet service and everything went to He** in a hand-basket as my Mom used to say.
Ok, so it’s a new season of the Biggest Loser and I am determined to try to be much better about posting about Biggest Loser each week. We also hope to have home internet back soon which would be a great help in being able to follow through with this resolution
Ok, so we saw the first show from Biggest Loser season 13. How did you all like it?
How do you like Dulvett?
Do you miss Anna Kournikova?
Josh and I noticed that her team did not do well for a while at the beginning of season 12. We felt that it was because she just did not have the experience necessary to train obese people.
Now, as time went by it seemed like she improved and she had just started to get a little place in our heart when I found out that she would nopt be back for sason 13 of Biggest Loser.
I DID just find out that Jillian Michaels is no longer on the tv show The Doctors. It seems that she wasn’t the good fit that they had thought that she would be.
This leaves me to wonder if Jillian might be on her way back to the Biggest Loser Ranch?
Maybe it is just wishful thinking. IDK. I have to admit that I am conflicted on this issue.
I mean Bob and Jillian? I LOVE Bob and Jillian. What a team. When I heard that Jillian was leaving the Biggest Loser I was sad. Then I was a little upset over the whole thing.
I mean, she is on the HUGE hit tv show. She helps people to change their life. She saves lives (Bob does too but I am concentrating on Jillian right now)
Then Biggest Loser season 12 started and I kind of liked Dulvett. The more I watched the more I liked him. But No One will take Bob or Jillian’s place, you know?
Anna, I thought was ok but she just didn’t have the necessary experience to get the kind of numbers in pounds lost that Bob (and even Dulvett) were having.
After a while she did better and she grew on me. I started to like her more but all I could think was that neither Anna nor Dulvett were going to come in and just take over. The Biggest Loser Ranch is like Hallowed ground for Bob and Jillian.
And yet, a part of me was still upset with Jillian for leaving the Biggest Loser. I felt like she deserted us.
So, finding out that she is no longer on The Doctors I was like “YEH! Maybe she’ll come back to Biggest Loser”
Then I was thinking about how great Dulvett has been and I really like him. Do I want to see him go? Can we have Bob, Jillian AND Dulvett?
I highly doubt it. I could see it for a short time but not for every season.
What do YOU think? Would you like to see Jillian come back? Would you miss Dulvett?
Ok, now on to Biggest Loser Season 13’s first show:
I love the first show of every Biggest Loser season. I love getting to know all of the new contestants. It’s like a brand new book just waiting to be written and filled with moments of laughter, tears and that wonderful feeling you get when you see these people losing weight and reaching their goals to be healthy.
Yes, I miss the former contestants that we have come to know and love. Yet I am happy to have seen the last of some contestants that just have rubbed us the wrong way. Over the years there have been a few of those but thankfully there are many more that find a place in our heart.
We start this season with 20 people. I was kind of sad to see the blue team have to go home right away. This has to be hard. They don’t even get a chance to walk onto the Biggest Loser Ranch? To have your dreams be so close, just there past your fingertips and then to have it SNATCHED AWAY!
I felt so bad for them.
But, I was happy for the pink team. For being strangers they seemed to just connect right away. They also seem like nice people and I wonder if maybe pink team is on it’s way to winning again? Maybe another pink winning streak? Hmmmm.
Chism and his Dad Mark remind me of Ron and Mike Morelli form Mi season 7 of Biggest Loser. I guess it is mostly that Chism reminds me of Mike but I think that he could go on to do very well like Mike did.
Is there anyone that you really liked?
Anyone that you didn’t like?I know that it is early on but sometimes you just get a first impression of someone you know? Sometimes it turns out that it is right on the mark and sometimes it’s not. I am wondering about your feelings and we will see how close they are to being right as the show progresses.
Sometimes too someone will seem really nice and then they lose weight and turn into real a**holes. We have seen that before too.
Well, I have more that I would like to say but am at the library computer and they will be shutting them down soon so I need to be saying goodbye for now.
If I am able to I might post more this weekend. If not then I will try to be back next week with more about the second show. I cannot wait to see what happens.
Here are a couple of videos. One for this week

and the preview for next week’s Biggest loser in case you missed it.

Biggest Loser March 8th 2011

March 7th, 2011

This is what is coming up on Tuesday night’s Biggest Loser this week. Was so sad to see Arthur go home last week but he seems to be doing really well. Happy to see that as we were worried about him going home so soon with so much weight left to lose and how unhealthy he was.

We LOVED Bob’s speach and we were very upset that it seemed like none of the red team ‘got it’ It seems to us like they are so much about game play and ‘Me, Me, Me’.

We thought that it was such a wonderful thing that the parents of the blue team sacrificed their staying on the Biggest Loser Ranch for the kids to have a chance to lose the weight and get healthy.

Red team didn’t agree.

As a parent I have to say that if it were Josh and I and he was that overweight then I would most certainly want him to stay. I love him so why wouldn’t I want the best for him?

I don’t know about you but Josh and I are all for the blue team. There are some that are ok on the red team but as a whole we just prefer the non game playing, do what’s right for the ones that need it the most attitude that the blue team has.

Go BLUE!!! :0)

Can’t wait to see blue kick some red butt again on Tuesday ;0)

BTW, I can see from my surfing throughout Biggest Loser land that we are not the only ones that are quite upset by the red team. I am seeing a lot of people thinking that they were pretty selfish.

Here’s another video for you :0)
