As most of you probably already know,Michael Jackson’s memorial was today.
People all over the world united in their grief to say goodby to Michael Jackson.
I must say that I missed the first part of the Michael Jackson memorial but what I did see was an emotional. beautiful tribute to the King of Pop.
All over the internet the buzz was about Michael. There were news reports, twitter updates and even a live video broadcast of the memorial for Michael.
Sadly, I missed Brooke Shield’s speech. From what I heard it was a heart flet speech which caused the tears to flow- even Brooke’s.
I wonder if the video from her speech will be on youtube for those of us that missed it?
Personally I cried when Michael’s brother Marlon came up to the mike. His voice broke as he aqueaked out “I hurt” I know the feeling of that pain, a loss so deep so soul ahattering that you don’t know how you can live through it
I laughed when Marlon told about seeing the old man at the music store. When he asked the old man “What are you doing here Michael?” and Michael wondered how he had recognized him I could picture the whole scene in my mind.
The story was funny and yet sad too as it depicted how with the famethat Michael had he was no longer able to enjoy a normal life. Simply going out to a music store to buy some cd’s was an ordeal of putting on a disguiseand hoping not to be discovered.
The simple mundane things that we do every day without giving them a second thought were not available to huge stars like Michael Jackson and Elvis presley.
I am sure that Michael is now in Heaven looking down and he is happy to see how he affected the world. Songs that he recorded years ago are still being enjoyed by young and old, male, female, black, white and every other color in God’s rainbow of human beings here on Earth.
I have been trying to leave a message on Michael’s facebook page but I don’t know if it is because of how busy it is or if it is my computer. I havem’been able to leave it there so I will leave it here:
Michael sang songs that made us think and made us feel. The world seems a dimmer place without his shining star to brighten it. We will miss you Michael
