Celebrity Deaths- Another set of 3?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

They say that these things happen in 3’s. In less than a week we have had Ed McMahon die, then Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson on Thursday June 25th 2009

In the last week we have had 3 people die in our area. The son of a family friend died last Friday, our state representative Dick Allen died on Saturday and our cousin (Maxine Peters) died on Sunday.

Then on Tuesday it was Ed McMahon and Thursday it was Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson.

That makes for 2 sets of three’s already.

Now today we found out that Billy Mays, fast-talking pitchman for products like Oxy-clean , died Saturday at his home in Tampa. Mays, Florida. Billy Mays would have turned 51 on July 20. He was found by his wife. Police do not suspect foul play.

Mays was aboard the U.S. Airways Flight 1241 that was flying from Philadelphia on Saturday when it suffered a rough landing due to the fact that its front tire blew out. Billy Mays told a Tampa TV station that he was struck in the head during the landing. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the actual cause of death. He was 50- the same age as Michael Jackson..

I thought that after Natasha died from hitting her head after her skiing accident that people would be more aware that when you hit your head you really should get it checked out. You might think that you are ok but you may be in serious need of medical care. Please remember that.

Celebrity #2?

Gale Storm the perky star of 1950s TV died Saturday too. She was 87.

Gale starred on “My Little Margie” and “The Gale Storm Show,” and had guest appearances on popular tv shows such as “Burke’s Law,” “The Love Boat” and “Murder, She Wrote.”

Gale Storm was born in Texas and named Josephine Owaissa Cottle

She appeared in three Republic westerns with Will Rogers.

“I was really scared of horses. I only rode them because that’s what you had to do.” Gale admitted in 2000. She recalled that Will Roger’s horse Trigger did whatever he could to cause her trouble. While she would smile and ride alongside Rogers anf he sang a song, Trigger (out of sight of the camera) would lean over and bite her horse’s neck.

So, will another celebrity die to finish off this set of 3?

I hope not, but I know that my Mom always said that these things happen in 3’s and it DOES seem to happen that way.

Time will tell…

Loss of an Angel & a King

Friday, June 26th, 2009

This has been a day of mourning for the world with the loss of an Angel and of a King.

Who would have thought when they woke up this morning that it was to be the end of an era.

As someone who grew up watching Charlie’s Angels & singing Michael Jackson songs.

The loss of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson leaves a huge hole not only in the entertainment field but also in the hearts of many throughout the world.

At 9:28 this morning Farrah Fawcett lost her long and courageous battle with anal cancer.

At approximately 2:30 this afternoon Michael Jackson died. There is speculation that he died of a heart attack but the true reason behind his death will not be known until the results of his autopsy come in.

Farrah is most known for her short role of one year on the hit tv show Charlie’s Angles. She is also remembered for her parts in movies such as Logan’s Run, The Burning Bed & Small Sacrifices to name just a few.

In The Burning Bed, which was based on a true story, Farrah played the part of an abused wife who kills her abusive husband by setting the bed on fire upon which he lay passed out.

Michael Jackson became famous when he was a small boy as the youngest member of the group the Jackson 5.

The baby of the group went on to become the most famous and, sadly, the first of the siblings to die.

Both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson will be sadly missed by those closest to them and by the fans who have watched them for years and who now have a hole in their heart by the loss of

an Angel and the King of Pop

I will write more on this tomorrow but the weather here today has been stormy which has made it hard for me to be on here to write this. It is late now and I have work tomorrow so I must stop for now but I will have much more to write about the loss of these shining stars that died far too soon.

I also plan on having an area where I will start to list famous people and when they died. Just this year we have lost some very famous people. The list may surprise you.

If you have memories of Farrah Fawcett or Michael Jackson then please share them here in the comments. I will try to get the community area up and running soon so that we can all mourn their loss and celebrate their lives together.

Later :0)
